I was hoping in futility that these would float under many's radar. Damnit

Music Shit / Re: If you had to recommend only ONE punk record...

I would say the Beggars Banquet Street Compilation from 1977. I know that it seems most people on here prefer things from the U.S and anywhere other than England but there, punk had much more of an impact on culture for better or worse. Not only did this compilation pretty well span a lot of what was going on musically, the Members song Fear on the Streets seems to pretty well illustrate the anger and frustration of what punk was in England and the culture that it was borne from. Also, lyrically, this same song is very relevant today as it is about fascism, polarized idealogy, etc.
Other than simply that, the album is pretty diverse and seems to pretty well capture the sound and attitude of the time. Even though the Pork Dukes are on there and I wouldn't recommend them to a stray dog.

Coo. Thank you very much

I had given up on this thing. It's been over a month and a half and it arrived today in an envelope with no cardboard support or anything.

Cities / Record Stores in Richmond/Norfolk/Va. Beach

So, I'm taking an East Coast road trip in a couple weeks and was wondering if there are any decent record stores in this area that I could find original vinyl (preferably punk) and would be worthwhile to stop off the freeway and check out

Wow. Reckless still has  them. Thank you sir (or ma'am)

yea I know, those records don't exactly make their way out to the pacific northwest that well believe it or not

oh excuse me, unless it craigmoerers extremely affordable collection of course. hope someone picks up this sarcasm

He once had a copy of The Ignerents 7' that was reasonable for 35$. Usually goes for around 50$ and I snoozed on it. Does he sell things at all in person or just by the mail? A friend told me of someone on Swan Island with a mammoth collection that I assume is the same guy.

I've bought a bunch of things from him over the years that were fairly or underpriced, but to be fair, the last one was likely 3+ years ago.  His grading and packing is impeccable, and that's the brand name you're paying for.

I've never actually ordered from him. It seems strange that he doesn't have an open door business or participate in any local record shows that I know of especially considering he sells new release type things as well as used records. I guess he just sells on Gemm or whatever. I'd love to see what he has in person but I guess it's not in the cards

I know that Intestines was repressed back in the nineties. I'd bet that's the same Dave who used to do Data Records back then. Believe the repress had a light blue color sleeve though. Got some cool records from them. Once upon a time they had old stock of The Victim-Teenage and Disorder-Reality Crisis. I'm just assuming it's the same guy though.

I got my copy of The News 7'. I thought it sounded pretty good. The Scientists re:  is superb
