HA! I almost bought this the other day. Wow, someone must have been recording their children at band camp

I ordered one of those reissues. My guess he is/was somehow connected to the band and had/has a box of a hundred or so. Ordered my a few days ago. Seems to be an awfully obscure record to boot or make up to post. Keeping my fingers crossed

Still another one up. I'm sort of crosssing my fingers because of the feedback.

dude must be sitting on a box of them... another 6 up. got my tracking number. should have the record in my mitts tomorrow.

he probably booted them. zero feedback = new identity

What's your take on the Magic cards he's selling?

he reproduced  the records "magically"?

Is this an SNL skit? No, it's actually funnier than one.

Where was it that was selling them online? I could have sworn I ordered one but could not find a record of it in my paypal. Needless to say, I never received one

Music Shit / The Rivals from the UK: Demos?
« on: May 16, 2012, 10:26:08 PM »
Has anyone bought or heard this CD of demos from The Rivals that 1977 recently put out? I know it just came out and it's a CD and it's spendy cuz it's from Japan but I'm interested in hearing how it sounds. I normally wouldn't be interested in buying a CD buy The Rivals are one of my favorites. The 'If Only' Lp that Detour put out a few years back was absolutely incredible.

FAR and beyond too much, but why hasn't this ever been reissued? One of the best U.S punk 7's

I have been looking for good display racks/shelves whatever for forty-fives for some time to display them. Any tips on finding them?
Here in Portland there is a record store (Crossroads) that sells the 45 boxes for 8$ which ins't terrible. They also sell mailers and sleeves and everything for aboutr what they would cost from Bags.

Sure. There are imbeciles everywhere in every facet of america. What bothers me most though are those privileged enough to not have worry about working such jobs.

So, how is this band's LP? This single is fantastic but I have never heard the LP. Is it all pretty solid stuff?

I am glad to see there are other people troubled by the basic humanity of customers. There's only so many people that can ask me' how big is an eighteen inch pizza' before before the recipient of such a question finds themselves baffled by not only how to answer but how to communicate to such a person. Disclaimer to, this question is NOT answered by a foreign person acclimated to the metric system. Just simple American stupidity that, upon further explanation do not understand what the diameter of a circle means.

I am sure that many people on here, like I am, are subjected to jobs serving irritating, hostile or just plain stupid people for a living. Now, my job, for example, could be far worse as I have worked jobs where violence was always a likelihood but now my job is not terrible, I get by and can buy records most of the time. Yet, sometimes some customers, not all or even the majority, force me to question humanity.

For instance, the other day when a customer inquired about if a food product contained meat I informed him that it was vegan. He said that he did not understand so I explained that it contained no animal products. He then repeated the question: so, does it have meat in it? To which I replied it's vegan. 'So does it have meat in it?' The next item was vegetarian which complicated things even further. And he was sincere. I thought it was an attempt at an Abbott and Costello routine.

Wondering if a thread like this have ever been started before. If not, here's a place to complain about stupid specimens of humanity that you've been forced to not only endure but serve.

Or maybe I'm the only one who needs to vent on occassion.

It seems like it would take an immeasurable number of fanzines and weekly papers to do something like that in the U.S. Even then, it would be tough to track down reviews of obscure 45's from small places considering punk wasn't charting here as opposed to the U.K. There was the Swedish punk book that was pretty impressive. European scenes might even be more accessible as punk bands seemed to garner more attention and there are probably people in each country that have a reasonably complete catalog of that countries punk/DIY/powerpop scenes. The U.S is huge and relatively disconnected it seems.

I would also be really excited to see a U.K follow up to 45 revolutions. I have put extensive wear on my copy.
