I found some pretty cool shit lately.

First, there's this shirt for a show/fest (?) from 1984 with what I presume are a bunch of AZ bands including JFA and Sun City Girls.  I don't really know the others although a little research helped me find Nova Boys EP from 1984 DEATH IN A DRESS which was pretty cool cowpunk.  Here's the shirt.

and a little closer on the date:

Anyone familiar enough with local 80s AZ punk to know the other bands listed?

I also found this pretty sweet Zappa shirt from December of 1976 when he played the Palladium and later released as ZAPPA IN NEW YORK.

Last and probably least, I found this John (Maus) Walker shirt that's pretty cheesy as far as shirts go but it's John Walker from the fucking Walker Brothers and so I was pretty stoked to find it at a thrift store.  It must have been not long before he died.

I found this cool Jah Wobble shirt with Island Records logo on the side sleeve.  It's super worn out, distressed, soft and completely transparent, I'm pretty sure it's been washed 1000+ times.  I'm thrilled.

So many great ones to choose from and I'd agree with Hawkwind - Space Ritual and The Rip Offs - Got a Record from previous pages.  I will add these...

Perfectly encapsulates the themes of the album with sexy Lolita on the cover clutching to her doll.

Fucking awesome cover with Cale looking like a serial killer.

I held off from buying this terrific album with the massively inferior US Cover and I'm so glad I eventually found this UK cover in a brick & mortar.  It's stunning.

I guess this is my favorite Jazz cover but there are really a lot to choose from since so many Blue Note and Verve covers are really terrific but this really captures the Miles Davis cool and offsets it with a dangerous red tint.

One of my favorite records and I've always found this cover really striking psychedelia.

Easily my favorite recent album cover.  A great piece of art (but I often feel the same about the fantastic American Apparel ads).

TALL DWARFS- Hello Cruel World- rare on homestead - vg+/ex doesn't have the lyrics inner sleeve but i don't think the non-flying nun ones had them, never seen another homestead? $35

I have that and mine doesn't have a lyrics inner sleeve either, I'm pretty sure it's only with the Flying Nun one, just in case that was a sticking issue with anyone.

...

However, I can't stop thinking about the one that got away.  I visited a fairly nearby record store that got in a bunch of amazing punk 7" and priced them near the high end of the retail price.  Last time I got a sneak peak through the collection and this time it was all out and priced.  The owner was holding a NM copy of The Nerves 7" for a customer that decided he didn't want it after all and it was priced at $120, which would be the most I've ever spent on a record.  I stared at it for a few minutes before finally passing on it because I just shouldn't be spending that kind of money right now.  I walked around with my girlfriend visiting a few clothing shops for the next hour and finally talked myself into buying it.  When I went back and asked for it, the record store owner told me that he called the guy who had originally put the record on hold and told him there was interest in that The Nerves 7" and the guy freaked out and came down immediately to pick it up in the hour I was away.  I was incredibly bummed out, I would love to own that record.

I guess I should update the story and say that more than a month later I found out that it was actually my girlfriend that covertly bought that The Nerves 7" that I was so bummed about missing out on.  She gave it to me yesterday for our one year anniversary.  Best. Girlfriend. Ever.

that's a HIM shirt and ville vallo on the front:

Thanks for solving this mystery.

 That's gotta be a dissapointment...

That's gotta be the funniest mystery I've ever seen solved. What a drag! But don't feel bad, I was as clueless as you. Still hilarious though!

It was definitely a bummer as I was certain that it was some cool 80s goth or post-punk shirt and not HIM but it was a fun little mystery.

I've been running well finding cool shirts at thrift stores lately, so I guess I'll share some more finds...

I'm also really fond of this weirdly psychedelic anti-drug shirt I just found:

However, my girlfriend blew me out of the fucking water with these The Clash shirts she brought home last week...

I got The Real Kids - All Kindsa Girls from a local store's eBay yesterday that had the extra bonus of being signed by the band.

I found some cool shirts lately, my favorite was this Beatles shirt released by The Wherehouse in 1973 to promote the two Greatest Hits compilations.

I also found a mystery shirt that I'm pretty sure is a band shirt but I can't quite place the image.

It also has five symbols on the back.  Anyone here know this image?

Awesome.  I'm coming up from Los Angeles and going to all three shows.  I can't wait to finally see the Coachwhips.

Does anyone have a copy of this they don't want or know some deep, dark place on the internet where they still exist for sale?

Any information would be much appreciated.

I keep returning to PONTYPOOL on netflix instant a Twilight Zone meets Welles' War of the Worlds radio broadcast about a radio DJ dealing with a developing horror story as he's live on the radio.  Not a perfect film but quite enjoyable.

I also really love NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD, a thorough look at the Smut, Horror and Action films that made up the Ozploitation films of the 60s-80s with tons of great clips that should give you pages full of potential rental ideas.

I have an unhealthy obsession with American Pickers too, I tend to just put that show on in the background.  It's comforting.
