not positive, but i think frantone went outta business so their pedals might be a pretty pricey nowadays.

the danoelectro cool cat fuzz is also supposedly a rip off of either the frantone cream puff or peach fuzz.

yeah they just do custom pedals now. Found someone online selling one for $180 which i'd totally go for, but he didn't reply to the email

- The MONOCHROME SET "Volume, Contrast, Brillance... Sessions & Singles vol.1" (LP. 1983 / rec. 1978-81) [UK]
A nice compilation of early Monochrome Set. Maybe my favourite from this band.
- Y TRWYNAU COCH "Y Trwynau coch" (LP. 2002 / rec. 1978-80) [UK]
I love that compilation... punk pop a la Buzzcocks but with tiny sound and lovely amateurism. Ah yes, and it's all sung in gaelic.
- TWELVE CUBIC FEET "Straight out the Fridge" (10". 1982 / rec. 1980) [UK]
Great british DIY band from the post punk era. Catchy melodies with some Casio keyboard.
- YEAH YEAH NOH "When I am a big Girl" (12". 1985 / rec. 1984) [UK]
Underated DIY punk, who used to be quite famous at the time. This includes all their first three EP's from 1984.
- Vyto BELESKA & FIRST CHIPS "Volume 1" (LP. 1972 / rec. 1964-72) [US]
Obscure recordings of Beleska and friends. Between folk, psych and experimentation.
- Joss BASELLI & ses ROCKETS / FONTANA CLUB ORCHESTRA / Leo CLARENS & son Ensemble / Alix COMBELLE & son Grand Orchestre "Jazz + Rock and Roll = Surprise-Partie 15" (LP. 195?) [FR]
Nice easy listening.
- Kenny DORHAM "Quiet Kenny" (LP. 1976 / rec. 1959) [US]
Brillant cool jazz.
- SUN RA "Cosmos" (LP. 2004 / rec. 1976) [US]
Not my fave Sun Ra, but still a good album.
- Erik SATIE [Jean-Joel BARBIER (piano)] "Sonneries de la Rose-Croix, Gymnopedies..." (LP. 1964) [FR]
A sunday morning record.
- The BRATCHMAN "Songwriting, Demos and other Experimentations" (LP. 2009) [FR]
Solo home recordings from the guitarist of the french Dum Dum Boys. Very Velvet'ish.
- MAX & MALCOLM "Max & Malcolm" (LP. 1982) [UK]
Much better than what I remembered. Not that far from what Zru Vogue did. Pleasant, but totally overpriced
- OLIVER "Standing Stone" (LP. 1992 / rec. 1974) [UK]
A fuckin' masterpiece. Weird folk on four tracks tape... some hints of Beefheart, some backward guitars, etc. Very recommended.
- NUDGE SQUIDFISH "Twenty Thousand Leagues under Nashville" (LP. 2010 / rec. 1985) [US]
Amazing album by an amazing band. Sounds totally original: and thats why it's an essential purchase.

12 Cubiic Feet - you bastard! Major want

Music Shit / Re: LACED

i really rate this record. I get the Black Dice comparisons, and perhaps some early Animal Collective stuff, but i also hear Country Teasers, Jim Sheppard, Morgan Fischer, and it still has loads of pop hook, they're just twisted and blown out.

Anyone got a copy of the 2x7" going spare?

I think I got multiple extras of that, but I won't be able to get back at them till after I get near them till mid-September.

I don't hear any Shepard in Laced, but I do feel some Bowie.

I'll be in SF in september

There almost too many to mention in the UK

Yeah, but on the other hand, where else do you find bands with names like The Exploding Seaguls, The Thin Yoghurts or The Scrotum Poles?

some of those names might sound good to American ears, but not necessarily to native ones
