Ex Models, Engine Rooms, Uk
Dispite everything going wrong.....broken equipment, strings (three times!), p.a, mics, and god knows what else they totally pulled it out of the bag and delivered the most ferocious, relentless and exhilarating forty minutes of the year.

awesome glasgow band called Plaaydoh:

http://www.myspace.com/plaaydoh

also good were Triple School but I don't know how active they are now...

Plaaydoh are fantastic. Scottland has monopoly on the funtime indie pop stuff. Look out for a new band rising out of the ashes of Sexy Kids soon too....will also be on Sex Is Disgusting Records www.myspace.com/sexisdisgusting

Like it's an even remote surprise that Bazooka Joe doesn't like these bands.

of course, cuz i've never liked trendy hipster ironic twee shamblerock.

Hmmmm... actually all the bands mentioned on this thread are pretty much what I wouldn't consider trendy east london indie pap, you know, like the sort of shit that the nme champions on a weekly basis, or the sort of bands whose lame festival appearances are broadcasted late at night by channel 4. They seem to have come out from genuine frustration with the lack of decent rock music in the uk. You just have to hang out in places like barden's boudoir to sense that the kids are doing it for themselves.

Yep.
