cool...hopefully you send out the warthog 7" before this one comes out.

I just got the Warthog records a few days ago and have spent my time since then packing every mailorder for it. They go out Monday. I was told I'd have the records more than a month ago and kept getting the run around until last week. I have a usually quick yet sketchy pressing situation and they botched that one hard.

Upcoming Shows/Tours/Events / Casanovas in Heat new 7" + March tour
« on: February 21, 2014, 10:20:39 AM »
Greetings! Making a thread for Boston's Casanovas in Heat, who are soon embarking on a two week tour in support of a 7" they have coming out on Katorga Works.

...digusting, I know. If you haven't heard them, Casanovas In Heat (Bloodkrow Butcher, Male Nurses, Subclinix dudes) plays melodic punk in the vein of late 70s Boston punk, as well as a smattering of influences ranging from the Killed By Death and Power Pearls comps to cult Boston power pop, as well as the Nerves, the Orbits, and Generation X. This single is a tremendous step forward for this band, as they contribute what are by far their best songs to-date. Here's a sample:

"Belvidere" http://soundcloud.com/katorga-works/kw-026

Here are the dates:

3/19 Boston, MA @ The Boiler Room - w/ The Combat Zone, Zipperhead, Dry Hump
3/20 Brooklyn, NY @ Don Pedros w/ Lurve, Failed States, Big City. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/660065750698480
3/21 Philadelphia, PA @ 4QHQ w/ Warthog, Neon Stains, Dark Thoughts, The Stasi
3/22 Richmond, VA @ Green Room w/ Warthog, Mercy Killings, Cretins, Nightstalker
3/23 Raleigh, NC @ Slims w/ Davidians, No Love
3/24 Atlanta, GA @ 705 Woodward Ave SE w/ Permanent Ruin, Shaved Christ, Dino's Boys
3/25 Nashville, TN @ The Other Basement w/ Switchblade, Waxed
3/26 Columbus, OH @ Ace of Cups w/ Pretty Pretty, Putrid Cause, Clean Men
3/27 Pittsburgh, PA @ TBA w/ Blood Pressure, Drug Lust
3/28 New Brunswick, NJ @ Cooler Ranch w/ Permanent Ruin, Ugly Parts, Working Stiff
3/29 Amherst, MA @ Thee Maximum Security Twilight Home w/ Blessed State, Way Out, Gay Mayor, Cheri Love

As far as I know, the shows with blanks are all being worked on, but any help would be appreciated.

if all goes according to plan, it looks like there will be a special test press version of this record available at their show on Saturday.

Upcoming Shows/Tours/Events / Re: New York's Alright 2014
« on: February 14, 2014, 12:22:39 PM »
Tickets for all main shows are **ON SALE AT 4PM EASTERN TODAY (2/14).** There are no advance tickets for the matinee or after shows. They will be available at the below links and in person at Heaven Street Records (184 Noll Street at Flushing Avenue in Brooklyn). Locals are highly encouraged to pick up tickets in person as to give out of towners a chance to buy online, and because why the fuck wouldn't you want to go to Heaven Street anyways?

*A note to bands: you get into all the main shows for free, we will be contacting you about that soon, look out for an email.

*A note to friends: there are no guest lists for shows at New York's Alright. Unlike a lot of festivals, we make it a priority to let bands playing into shows for free, and there isn't room for more people after that. Don't ask us to let you in for free. Don't complain about it later if tickets sell out. Don't pose. NYC one love support the scene/ future vibrator.

Tickets for the main shows go on sale on 2/14, so be sure to act then. There will be no presale tickets for the matinee or after shows. Locals, please do not buy tickets online. They will be available for purchase at Heaven Street Records. We cannot offer a 4-day pass this year, as each larger venue has their own ticket system. Still, this will make things more organized and user friendly.

The Sunday show will act as a BBQ (the Wick will provide, at cost, many BBQ options for omnivores and vegans alike!), as well as a sort of market with tables set up of distros, art, etc.

Members of the community will be booking unofficial aftershows that will be announced as soon as they have been finalized.

Since the ABC No Rio matinee can only support a minority of the fest-going population, Heaven Street will be having a New York's Alright/Record Store Day party. Come hang out if you like pizza and beer. Better yet, if you're a serious record collector, we'll be unveiling a slew of collections of crazy, rare punk stuff, so don't miss out.

Cool! I actually only like a few songs on the first 7" and I (along with the band) HATE the recording. I'm much more impressed with this batch of songs and the job Kyle Keyes did capturing their essence.
