If Bucs play at Cincy Cole will start. Maybe Liriano in Pitts. He looks awful lately though. Farnsworth's sole redeeming quality is he has a tattoo of  his late dog Strike on his arm. He can't be counted on. May not even be on PO roster. I hope Locke and Jones aren't on PO roster. I would settle for a barely adequate fielder it 1b who had some pop in his bat. The Island of Dr. Morneau made an error yesterday. Sorry, I hate him.

I'll be surprised if Locke even stays in the majors. He crash'n'burned so hard I would expect to see him back in AAA next year

listening to the new Deltron album for the first time. Really digging the beats and turntable work, but there's clearly a lot going on in the lyrics that I will have to unpack on subsequent listenings. Highly recommended.

I think Morneau is a solid defensive player that makes up for his mediocre hitting, but either way I would pick him over Jones.

As far as our relief pitching is concerned, I think Melancon might just be exhibiting regression to make up for some superhuman performance for a while. He's still a very good pitcher, he just had a really bad week. I definitely agree with you on Wilson and Watson; even Farnsworth is pretty solid.

With Liriano, we gotta use him in the WC, for better or worse, because he does perform super-well against lefties. I get the skepticism for sure. I don't wanna see the Bucs get creamed either, but the fact that the Pirates are even in the Wild Card at all makes this season a colossal improvement...that much can't be denied.

I don't really buy 7"s anymore, but I have 30 left that I really like, and probably 200 LPs. I've been trying to reduce my collection lately because I found myself moving a lot and in need of cash. It hurts to sell em off, but sometimes there are easy candidates for the cull...usually the stuff you buy on impulse or flash-in-the-pan stuff that sucks a few months later

I've watched a lot of Pirates games this season, especially this month, and yeah, they're scuffling a bit. Everyone could see their bullpen wearing out, and Locke turning into a pumpkin. But I think their top 3 starters are formidable and could roll into the playoffs on a hot streak, and I like the new, balanced offensive attack (on paper at least) better than what was more successful earlier in the season. Cept for Morneau, he sucks. What's the deal with Marte?

I had given up on Marte then he hit game winning HR last night! morneau is a singles machine and an above average fielder. Not the hired gun yoiu are looking for in a streetch drive. The middle of the lineup is not producing consistently down the stretch. Byrd looked okay for awhile but has tailed. Bucs have four good starters. Bullpen appears to have hit the wall. Bud Black figured out Melancon and other teams are paying various degrees of attention but  you can bet the other playoff teams are. I think Pirates are something like 11-10 for Sept. Upon reflection scuffling isn't quite the word. Bumbling? I can't believe they were partying last night two games out of first with five to play. But of course don't want Vinnie to cancel his flight.

seconding Morneau. Dude has been a solid contributor. I'm frustrated with Melancon, but I stand by him. Last night, for example, he "gave up the run," sure, but it was a bloop grounder to Alvarez, who dogs more than his share of easy plays. As for Liriano, the dude would be the hands-down Cy Young winner if Clayton Kershaw wasn't playing.

I'm optimistic, but cautious. I think tonight, they were re-energized and excited. Also, the Pirates crush lefty pitchers. Even if we get slaughtered, this year was a wild success, and I think this is just the beginning.

CONGRATS BUCS!  I've been to PNC Park, must be awesome to finally have something to cheer about in such a beautiful stadium

We'll see if they get to play a postseason game there this year.

I snagged tickets to the second division series game. I figured I had to after seeing them lose for years and years. If they make it, it'll be awesome to go, but if they don't I get my money back, which is still kind of a win bc I'm dead broke and totally couldn't afford the ticket

That last shot of the whiskey glass was corny as fuck.

Breaking Bad loves doing that shit. I know it's corny, but it's still kinda fun

So next week can't really be anything but analogous to Rambo. This is gonna be awesome.

it'll have to be. everything about this episode screamed filler. i was pretty bored by it tbh

Human Eye - Into Unknown - Really digging this one, especially after seeing them tear a near empty room apart a few days ago.

TV Ghost - Disconnect - Seems like an ambitious record, and I want to like it, but it's falling flat for me. Pretty same-y overall, not into the constantly whispered vocals either. Maybe it'll be a grower?

I like tv ghost a lot live but their lps always leave me cold.

their vocals always kinda turned me off. i get how some people might really be into it, but it's just not for me i guess

but there's no Walt left, just Heisenberg.

I saw the scene with the cellphone call in the most recent episode as Walt struggling to maintain his grasp on Heisenberg but largely failing as he loses his grasp on reality. He's choking back tears, he barely maintains his composure during the call. Heisenberg is so much colder than that. Right?

i don't think it's like Walt gets possessed by Heisenberg or anything. i read the phone call as being partially him venting long-suppressed feelings, partially a ploy to let skyler walk.
