Nope, but I can recommend weed. If you find meditation helps, please report back.

Tried that, no longer does the trick.

Non-Music Shit / meditation

I'm sure I'll get some shit for this, but can anyone recommend a book for beginners on meditation. I am specifically attempting to work on anger issues. I've found a few that look good, but I thought I'd see if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks.

These guys are super nice. I go to their store regularly, great selection, always friendly to both myself and my son, which is not always the case. Most of their "releases" are decent as well. But the most telling thing on their website, the thing that captures their little culture best, is the hyperlink that reads:

"Click Here to See All of Our Stuff."

Exactly.

Non-Music Shit / Need help with a humming record player
« on: November 20, 2012, 11:54:58 AM »
I have a hi-fi record player from the 1960s that hums when I turn it on. Any thoughts? I know it is not the turntable, I've now plugged a few of those into it.

Thanks.

I have seen the flicks, just not in a few years and I couldn't recall those aspects of the films. My eighth grade history teacher got in deepshit for showing Shogun with Richard Chamberlin, if I recalll correctly a couple of topless Asian chicks bath him at one point.

I am showing Heavy Metal Parking Lot and Decline of Western Civilization Pt. 2 The Metal Years in a course this evening, but I can't remember if there's nudity in either of them. I know there's questionable language in both, but does anyone know if their is anything highly offensive in either flick.

fuckin' johnny marr.  LOVE HIM

That may seem cool to you but smoking is deadly; kids will see this and think it's cool to smoke because their favorite bassist does it.  Look how skinny he is.  Bet he's got other bad habits as well.

Johnny Marr doesn't play bass dude.

Reatard / Re: when/how did you get into Jay Reatard?

I saw the Blood Visions cover for like two years and it scared the shit out of me. Really. Then I heard "I'm Watching You" the singles version from a friend and that was that. In my opinion that was his all-time best cut. I have to say Watch Me Fall is one my all-time favorites. My wife and I seperated a few years back and that album really got me through the thick of it.

As a warehouse veteran I can totally appreciate this.  Dig the way dude's smock looks like a cape when he first gets going.

I too am a warehouse veteran and that is awesome. Never even tried to spin on a manual jack, this guy's an innovator.

Paul Revere & The Raiders Midnight Ride

This record is a keeper.

Not enuff love for PR and the Raiders...

For real. I only bought cause I love the songs kicks, but its received three full spins in 24 hours. Really good stuff.

Love them. Totally underrated. Kicks is great, really like that song "Good Thing" too. Suprised they don't get more credit around here.
