Music Shit / Re: If you had to recommend only ONE punk record...
« on: June 08, 2012, 02:32:21 PM »
I think Disorder's Perdition EP would be a good choice.  It's raw and noisy but the tracks are still catchy.  It's dark and alienated stuff, not too artsy but not boneheaded either.  Plus, the sleeve is totally punk.

Maximum Rock'n'Roll

I don't know if this is a lame joke or a weak attempt at provocation, but MRR have been around since the late 70s and are one of the most venerable zines/radio shows around.  They're dedicated to punk and have probably done more than anyone else when it comes to documenting the scene over the years and around the world.

I'm not crazy about Bad Thing.  Sun Medallion is definitely my favourite King Tuff song.
20
I really like King Tuff Was Dead but the new songs aren't doing anything for me either.  They're more polished, more pop and they don't have the psychedelic weirdness of Was Dead.

I picked up the Mauser - Isolation LP and it rules.

The Vaaska - Condenado 7" is really good but I like Ruido Hasta la Muerte better.

pretty sick. My wallet hurts.

That looks great.  I have the Lama s/t  LP + the singles comp on Svart and they're really nice records.  Good sleeves, thick vinyl.  Totally worth the price and absolute classics.

Both Kremlin demos are great.  The new songs sound different to me but I like them.

I'm definitely a fan of Tragedy and am looking forward to hearing the new LP.  I saw them live about a year and a half ago and they were great.  It's a bit hazy, but if I remember correctly, one of the members of Hellshock was filling in on bass.

Music Shit / Re: Mark Sultan interview
« on: May 04, 2012, 03:57:14 PM »
Nice interview.  His records are good but every time I've seen Mark Sultan live it's been a disappointment.  Last time in Toronto I don't think he even played one song from start to finish and pretty much mocked the audience the whole time.  Most people had walked out by the time I left.
