Pop Punk / Best Motorhead DVDD
« on: September 12, 2013, 04:34:14 PM »
I've fallen down a Motorhead rabbit hole on YouTube lately. Usually I'd start w/ Motorhead and end up watching L Ron Hubbard videos 4 hours later but for some reason I'm actually sticking w/ Motorhead. There's a fair amount out there but I'd realy like a compendium of the older stuff. I know there's a Bronze Years DVD that I'll probably snag but the interviews seem to be pretty "Another Pretty Day"centric....not a problem but I want really want interviews and shows up through Iron Fist....which is exactly what the Bronze DVD says it is but like I said, the interviews don't get me to psyched. I want early Lemmy...hell I'd love fucking Hawkwind era shit or if there were any Larry Wallis interviews. Fuck...that's a lot of words.

Readers Digest Version: Can anyone recomend a good Motorhead DVD that is primarily 75-81 interviews and live stuff beside the Bronze years?

Got The Evil One a few days ago. Awesome package, serious cover, obi strip, the fourth side engraving looks fine (if short a head) and the twenty page "leaflet" is amazing. Sounds great to me.....and that's the colored vinyl. Excited for the other two, especially Gremlins.

Non-Music Shit / Re: Anyone ever complain about their Mail Carrier?

I live in a carrige house in Denver and my front door is about 10  steps from a fairly well traveled street. There is a gate but no lock or anything. I''ve been pleasantly suprised at how many of the packages receive are placed behind my screen door, which is perfect. That being said, there's one lady who just walks up and plops the package down RIGHT NEXT TO MY SCREEN DOOR. I seen her doing it the other day and said "REALLY??" loud enought for her to hear but do not want to get into it with her. At least at this point she's delivering them. Don't piss off the cook. And in this instance there's not a Taco Bell on the next block. Rather infuriating, as well as a drag for the other carriers as I'd like to leave them a few bucks at xmas or whatever but don't want her to get her mits on my hard earned.

Funny....I was thinking of starting "John Brannon...coolest early 80's HC dude still going?" thread literally earlier today. Opened for them (under a differnt name...can't remember what) at the Parkside 6-7 years ago and I was blown away at, aside from them being great, how cool he was. Considering the last time I'd seen him was opening for Nick Cave at the Warfield sometime in the 90's w/ the Hyenas I think I expected at least some attitude. Zero. Dude was incredibly down to earth and just cool as fuck. Same w/ the rest of the band. Not to mention they destroyed.

Go see 'em if you get a a chance if for no other reason to support a real lifer motherfucker.....who also happens to be one of the nicest guys you'll meet in a bar.

I need the '86 tour cover for Anti-Cimex Raped Ass EP as well as a cover for Victimes of a Bomb Raid.

That would just make my day.

Was way late to the party but got a Europen press of a Outakes and Demos LP that blew my mind. Got Memphis is Dead recently and it really didn't do it for me.  Is Rat's Brains the next logical step for me?

PS; Who's got it better than us?? NOOOOO-BODY!!!

Odd but true....a former mayor of Newbridge wasn't even a resident of NJ. Guy lived in Philly and was fairly open about it. Typical crooked NJ politics.

"LET'S JUST GET A SHOT HERE......"

Fucking drag. From the LA Times around his retirement;

"I don't have an agent. I don't have a manager, I don't have a press agent, I don't have a wardrobe guy, a makeup guy, a parking space, a dressing room. It's basically me and a cameraman and an editor and a couple of guys in the office. I can go out between now and noon and do a full 30-minute show just talking to people on the street and have it on the air tonight. It's an economic model that's a production model, but it's a model that I believe in philosophically as far as what the viewer should see ....

"We always shoot wide because I want the viewer to see what you would see with your eyes if you were there, so when I'm sitting here talking with you" ? meaning me, across the table ? "I see you but I also see the bush over your shoulder. I see the Brinks trucks behind you. That's life."

So many assholes in the world, so few Huells. And his camerman of course...like Mick and Keith. Whatever....being in Colorado I've actually been watching his shit quite a bit cause I'm not digging it here all that much.

Shit just got a lot less friendly up in this bitch.
