Man I never heard of Skankin' Pickle but if they got horns they gotta be good too.

Papiercuts, Blood/Sweat/Tears, that song "Vehicle", Chicago.

Shit cat even Miles Davis has got horns.

QED.

Having now gotten my mitts on the Papiercuts 12" I can safely say it is easily the best new release of 2018.

Shit's got horns even.

Yeah I think that's a good comparison too.

Side 2 gets a little more country in parts but the last song ("Disco Dancer") is straight smooth pop.

Definitely worth it.

I mean, it's pro as hell and totally CSN'd out but I'm pretty sure that isn't a problem for you.

Kinda reminds me of the Shaun Harris record with a bigger budget and better songwriting.

Easily some of the best stuff I've heard in the genre.

As for the Index, I have the 2010 Lion CD comp and the LP reissue Valice put out in 2014 but haven't done a comparison yet.

Whoops I forgot about the Boatmen.

And Rollie Blinn & His Fishermen.

And it was nice of Flashback to put out the CBC Perth County Conspiracy record.

And another version of Sussex from Ugly Pop (keep 'em coming, I will buy every remaster).

The Dylan II record on Pony Canyon, the Kinks Village Green box, Elysian Spring and Valley Of Search, Park Jiha's Communion, and Standing On The Corner.

Surely definitive versions of Cyborgs Revisited, Oar and The New Folk Sound Of Terry Callier.

The O'Seis single, the C.Memi+Neo Matisse single, "Angel In A Raincoat".

High Rise II, Suzanne Menzel, the Skygreen Leopards comp on Soft Abuse (thanks!) and a way overstuffed but still useful Craig Smith collection.

Outhern, Net, and Bovril, the Nocturnal Projections stuff and TKOP if you like that sorta thing.

Oh, and an affordable version of Transa (no big foldout jacket tho).

Whew.

Best:

Gaseneta - ???? - imagine if I'd played this more than twice.
Kamal Keila - ?????? ???????? - greatest discrepancy between label name and quality of music.
Thelonious Monk - Mønk - Rouse-era '63 in Denmark, Frankie Dunlop on fire and Monk just straight up fucking with everyone.
International Harvester - Remains - hi this forum hippie lovers.
Modern Minds - Go - Moe Berg, before Toronto ruined him.
New Parents - Transient Response - I kinda remember the vocals being bad but I'm not putting Ned Collette on here so this'll be the Feeding Tube entry.
Bruce Moody - Get Fresh EP - pop, Martin.
Index - Originals Vol. 1 - please keep repackaging this and selling it to me over and over so I don't have to buy any Shifters records or whatever.
Kids/Real Kids - Demos/Whatever - boys with guitars before that was the worst.
Yuzo Iwata - Daylight Moon - fuck.
Unicorn - Laughing Up Your Sleeve - cocaine.
Ritchie Venus - Demetria 7" - I haven't actually played this yet but it has to be better than something on this list.
Robert Rental - Different Voices - robert rental.
Musci/Venosta - A Noise, A Sound - italians.

Worst:

Shogun & The Sheets - Hold On Kid 7" - fuck.
Trembling Bells - Dungeness - fuck.
Sons Of Kemet - Your Queen Is A Reptile - there's a british person rapping.

But mostly:

Only Monk now.

Is there any way someone from Canada can get their hands on this?

Seconded.

Great news, I'll keep an eye out.

Hey - pretty much everywhere I order from ships a single LP from the US to Canada for about 15-17 bucks, First Class International.

Floridas Dying does it for 17, Academy Annex in NYC charged me 15.20 last time out, Goner doing 16.70 right now, Permanent is 16.00.

Really excited for this - last one killed and "Bull & Cup Relax" still fave song of the year.

Anyone gonna distro this and willing to ship to Canada for less than Midheaven's 24 bucks, let me know.
