2002 vinyl reissue of Electric Mud.

Sounds like crap/entire flute track on "She's Allright" is missing.

What the hell.

Fifth disc of the Hollies box set.

I'm a fan but the consistency of this set always shocks me - they just didn't lay down many bum tracks at all.

Also, Allan Clarke.

Also dig how Canada cuts 5 of the top 30 scorers in the league.

Here's a 5 man unit made of guys who didn't make the team:

LW Taylor Hall
C Joe Thornton
RW Claude Giroux
D Dan Boyle
D Brent Seabrook

Not too shabby.

Kunitz over anyone is pretty brutal, yeah.

Warren Young and B.J. MacDonald weren't available ?

Glad they took Subban.  Don't have real problems with Bouwmeester, kind of surprised by Hamhuis.

Really would have liked to see Giroux/Hall, St. Louis and Thornton rather than Kunitz, Nash and Marleau but all in all, it's hard to complain.

The "unveiling" was fucking painful, too - isn't Marcel Aubut the guy who sold the Nordiques ?  And the Minister of Transport spoke ?  And Kevin Lowe is allowed to participate at all ?

Anyhow, the Czechs have Petr Nedved on their team.  Gold medal already wrapped up.

This is the worst game Canada has played in the tournament.

Absolutely standing still.

A Canadian player (or an American player, for that matter) acts the way that Swedish defenceman did at the end of that game he is crucified by the IIHF and we're in for reams of tut-tutting about Canadian goonery.

Curious to see if the Swedish player is even suspended.

Anyhow, here's the second part of the Sochi picks from Habseyesontheprize:

Campbell is a bit surprising and Reimer seems ludicrous (and really highlights the Canadian goaltending "crisis") but man, I wish these guys were actually picking the team.

First time this tournament that the Swedes have seemed manageable and they're still up 2-1.

Gene Clark demos like this...

Also, much of his '70s output.

Nice.

If you're into Clark and haven't heard this, have a poke around the internet and see if you can pick up the files (or PM me).

Can't think of an artist with higher quality "unreleased" stuff than Gene.

For years I figured I had everything I needed with two two-disc comps - one covering the Cadence years and the other the Warner stuff - but like SSR sez they continued to put out strong work through the 70s as well.

There are two terrific RCA records well worth investigating (Stories We Could Tell and Pass The Chicken And Listen), and good stuff after that too.

Figure this'll be like when Hatfield died though - nobody much gives a shit anymore.  Too bad.

The old boy idiots involved with Team Canada are equally as likely to fuck it up for us as the old boy idiots involved with Team USA, definitely.

How'd you like Mark Giordano on your team ?  Chris Kunitz ?  Dan Boyle ?

Not confident in any decision-making process in which Kevin Lowe has an active voice.

Yeah - the article is linked a couple comments up.

Burke is such a blowhard - he said he should have drafted Johnson instead of Ryan and more or less called Ryan a lazy pussy.

Like you said, they've basically alienated any first-rate injury replacements they might have had.

The hard-on all those guys have for Jack Johnson is really strange, they were looking for any reason at all to put him on the team.
