Poile, meanwhile, knows Oshie and likes his personality.

"Oshie's got that shootout move," he adds.

Yep.

Canada, absolutely.

Not sure the USA has that sort of depth - taking the top 25 players out of the mix, your bottom 6 forwards/bottom 4 d-men are getting pretty thin to eat minutes in a top level tournament.

In any event, if you haven't read that ESPN article I linked up there, give it a shot - the way these teams are selected is just mind-boggling.

Put it this way - I won't be totally shocked if both Taylor Hall and PK Subban are left off the Canadian roster in favour wool-headed "chemistry" picks like Chris Kunitz.

Both programs need a dedicated infrastructure in place a la the old-style Canadian National Team setup with Dave King.  Having people involved with NHL teams directly influencing team makeup can't be good for anyone.

Insane that they don't take Bobby Ryan.

Well, there go the Americans.

Also, Brooks Orpik haha.

Further, this is insane.

Right, but they're still totally different than the guy's regular pads, yeah ?

Just seems like a fundamental thing to fuck with for the sake of playing dress-up.

Surprised both goalies went for "old-school"-style pads.

It's one thing to jam a toque on the helmet and paint yer face a little bit for yuks but I'm kinda shocked a player would go so far as to wear unfamiliar equipment in a game which counts in the standings.

G Rap is , in my opinion, the greatest rapper ever. I'd take him over who the majority think are the greatest ( biggie, PAC, rakim, big daddy Kane etc..)

Seconded.

15-60-75 - Jimmy Bell's Still In Town.

Hadn't heard this before the reissue.

Unbelievable.

Can't imagine how great this was live.

Well, I'm not sure Fucale should be credited with stealing the game (couple inches and Canada would have had two more) and the 2nd U.S. goal was a bit of a softie but it's nice to see a decent performance in net for the first time in... years.

Still don't like this team for the gold - watching the Sweden/Russia game earlier today was a bit frightening and I'm thinking the Swedes will be basically uncontrollable when the games get important.

- SIMONES “Corridor of Dreams” (LP. 2013 / rec. 1992) [US]
- SIMONES ”Balloon Ride” (LP. 2013 / rec. 1998) [US]

How are these ?

I'm intrigued, but then copy like this:

Quote
Taste his ULTRA PSYCHEDELIC guitar FREAKOUTS from beyond the beyond till the ACID comes splattering from your speakers!! A blistering trip to the STONEHENGE beyonds of our micro and macro cosmos!! Flowing guitar ERUPTIONS leading your mind in a state of TRANSPARENT CONSCIOUSNESS allowing you to glance at the extra-terrestrial, the extra-dimensional, the extra-cosmic, the inner mind, the inner force, the INNER LIGHT!! It makes you wanna leave this godforsaken planet!

... puts me right off.

2. Really? I think side B of the Millennium record is wayyyy better than side A and  "To Claudia On Thursday" is on side A.

Yeah.

Of the two most influential bands in my list of fave raves, I can listen to and enjoy sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-Byrds records 'til the end of time but get even a single degree away from the Beach Boys (and I include the entire Sagittarius/Millennium/Beottcher axis here) and I'm left completely cold.

Can't explain it, baby.

Crabby Appleton - Crabby Appleton.

1.  Hey so that's why "Go Back" on that Charlson record sounded so familiar.

2.  "To Claudia On Thursday" is the only worthwhile thing the Millennium ever did.

3.  Wonder if that Fennelly demos thing'll be any good.

Roy Brooks - The Free Slave.

Unreal, even my fucked up copy.
