I didn't know of TermBo when I got into this music.  The music led me here, actually.  I just went to a bunch of shows I really liked at a couple bars, started following their calendars, and following little myspace trails of breadcrumbs around to different bands.

I just don't think the basic format is conducive to good art.  There's an art to the 7" by one band--which song(s) you put on one side or the other, and the split just ends up more competitive and less crafted, to me.  I really really like when a b-side perfectly compliments an a-side, and that rarely happens when two bands just slap their shit together.

The saddest thing about all of this is that the public at large has no idea how money works.  We can't just write the private sector checks for 700 billion dollars and make everything okay without feeling the after effects for years.

The fact that they wanted to allow departing executives to keep their golden parachutes because this wasn't a time for "punitive measures" just blows my mind, though.

I like the Hives. Their new album sucks, but their stuff before that is pretty good.

Haven't bothered with the new one but Barely Legal is PUNK AS FUCK.
