love Jagger but to be honest, his voice isn't that hot.  It totally works and I wouldn't have homie sound any other way.  But technically he's not really a "good" singer.  It works for what the Stones did so I'm not complainin y'know.

By the way, I can't fucking believe this thread has gone on for four pages without a single mention of the Small Faces, and in particular Steve Marriott's laryngeal jackhammering, which makes Mick Jagger sound like Tommy Smothers. Anyone who thinks ol' Mick wasn't hiding behind the door when the Almighty passed out the pipes is wrong. I mean, jesus christ, the man would be shitcanned from the stage at a pig auction. He has the vocal range of a fucking tree frog. Yeah, it works, but I can honestly say I've heard better delivery in the bathroom of a Beef O'Brady's.

Yo, fuck all this technical shit. If I wanted to hear a technically good singer I'd go to the opera. A good singer makes the songs work and mic jagger definitely makes the stones work. most of my favorite singers aren't technically good. none of the bands that people like on this forum are technically good, but that doesn't make them bad.
