I forget who responded to "sexist lyrics" allegations by saying "Have you hear Wild World by Cat Stevens? Now THAT'S a sexist song."

Classic quote, age 5: "I feel bad for Dee Dee, he's dead. And I feel bad for Marky too, he has lived for too long."

My daughter, now 8, had great taste in music when she was a bit younger and more dependent on what we exposed her to: she loved the Runaways, Ramones, Kraftwerk, Sex Pistols, Blondie. She knew what drummer played on which Ramones record and I had to tell her Dee Dee died because he had too much medicine. This deteriorated as she's grown older and more independent, now she likes contemporary pop hits and "Frozen" just like everybody else her age.

She says herself that she's "outgrown" the Ramones. I like the fact that in a few years when her peers will get hip to punk rock, she'll say "oh I used to like that stuff back in pre-school". I hope she finds her own way, like I did. She doesn't have to like what I like. Although I must admit it made me proud when I played the newest CTMF record and she said after a minute "Is this Billy Childish?"

Good starting point for the kids.

I do agree with this although they may just aswell become the ending point for the elderly's coffee tables. KBD gone for brunch.

The selections seems somewhat haphazard to me (although, yes, so many great songs on there), but maybe the liner notes makes sense of it.

So many good hardcore records now, but Perspex Flesh LP is killing me. Amazing.

So how soon is "very soon"?
Hopefully sooner than the "Death Church" reissue... Would love to walk into the record store on the corner (who carried bootlegs from both records by the way) and get out with both fresh reissued objects. Two of the very few records I wouldn't think twice to buy on the spot even if I'm sadly broke right now.

I wouldn't worry about Southern's "Death Church" reissue. Seems reasonable to do it last since it's the one everybody ("everybody") is waiting for.

Then I remembered that I was watching it on a laptop.

Very brunch. Kudos!
