Cool, I think my local shop has a copy of the new Ooga Boogas, so maybe I'll grip it today.

The Native Cats, Process Praise LP - revisiting this in preparation for the new album coming out next month. I always liked the album, but I really liked it on the latest spin, especially on the last two tracks. Really excited for the new LP!

Rectal Hygienics, Even the Flies Won't Touch You LP: http://fuckrectalhygienics.bandcamp.com/ - I like Brainbombs just fine, and this band does a pretty competent rip-off, but this just isn't grabbin' me at all. Maybe it's something about the European accent that works in Brainbombs' favor? Or maybe it's just that the lyrics RH uses aren't outlandish enough. Maybe just some hardcore bros using "transgressive art" as a blanket term to justify screaming about their mommy issues. Can't say for sure why Brainbombs is OK but not this, but I know this one ain't for me.

Ooga Boogas, Romance and Adventure LP / Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Primary Colours LP - just recently bought copies of both of these, correcting a few-years-old oversight. Love 'em both, especially the Ooga Boogas one. Still haven't checked out the latest one, but the reviews are middling so maybe it's not worth it?

Locrian, Return to Annihilation 2xLP: http://www.spin.com/articles/stream-locrian-return-to-annihilation-relapse/ - really excellent new album from one of my favorite bands. Unlike past releases that kind of bubble and stew and maybe burst once in a while, this one actually moves along pretty well, especially for a double LP. Can't wait to spin the actual record.

Shoes This High "Tunnel Vision" from that live set is the punkest thing to hit these ears since WHO THE FUCK KNOWS.

"I don't give a fuck about the things I do/and I don't give a fuck about the clothes that I wear/and I don't give a fuck about anything - TUNNEL VISION!!"

Chills. Fucking sublime. Genius. All other music sucks.

(sounds like they nicked the riff from "Pull Down the Shades" for Xtra punque pointzzzzz)

TUNNEL VISION!!!!!!!!!

Whoa, this is awesome. Never heard of these guys before, but the Axemen's blog delivers. Thanks!

Just bought that Peter Jefferies LP reissue on De Stijl, Call Back the Giants' The Marianne LP and the Shadow Ring's Remains Unchanged 2xLP. I've always been a little too intimidated to check out the Shadow Ring, but the clerk insisted that I get started. Rather enjoying it so far.

Hood - Cabled Linear Traction.  Another band I never really bothered with.  Okay stuff.  They do anything better?

I haven't listened in a little while, but the Cold House LP and the Home Is Where It Hurts EP were my go-to recordings for this band. Outside Closer ain't bad, either. I should mention that I've not heard anything released before 2000/1 by this band, so their sound might've changed a lot in the interim.

Funny that you mention the Stones as that's all I listened to yesterday before work and they made everything else that I tried to listen to after work (besides Revenge.  Great palate cleanser.) sound like shit.  Almost threw the Cuntz LP out the fucking window.

I've kind of felt that way about the Cuntz LP all along. All descriptions/reviews indicate that I should fucking love this record, but it's just flat-out irritating to me. It sounds like a bunch of generally apathetic, comfortable people are trying really hard to be angry about anything. Disingenuous I guess? Hard to say, but it hasn't clicked.

I listened to Sabbath Bloody Sabbath today and it was just fiiine. Also stuck on the Country Teasers' Full Moon Empty Sportsbag LP (all sorts of excellent) and dreamdecay's N V N V N V LP (ugly noise rock, big step up from the 12" last year).

Eddy Current Suppression Ring, So Many Things 2xLP - never got into this band from listening to their full-lengths, but this is a front-to-back stunner. Instant good mood when this is on.

New Order, Substance 2xCD - pulled it out for a quick road trip. One of very few things I listened to regularly in high school that doesn't make me cringe. "State of the Nation" forever.

Counter Intuits, s/t LP - didn't think much about it the first time I put this on, but almost nothing else will do these past few days. Really like "Stickin Pins" but all of 'em are winners. Second to only Pissed Jeans as my favorite LP of the young year.

Killer job on the Anonymous LP + really enticing sample tracks... ordered!

LBC endorsement doesn't hurt either.

Looks like the label's outta these already. Still waitin' on mine, but the free stream is helping matters.

Come, 11:11 - 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition 2xLP + 7" - picked it up on a recommendation from a friend. It's my first go-round with the band and I'm really glad I took the chance. Great LP. I haven't delved into the live disc or 7" just yet, letting the LP soak in a while first.

Fabulous Diamonds, Commercial Music LP - this one's always good to me. Soothing after a long day, or maybe one could dance around like Daniel Higgs to it.

Condominium, Carl 7" - totally killer record. My favorite 7" of the year so far.

new Condos 7" on sub pop is a winner

So true. Their best material to date.

Never heard either of these albums before, but really like what I hear. I plan on buying both very soon.

I really want these Country Teasers LPs:

Satan Is Real Again (Or: Feeling Good About Bad Thoughts) (Crypt, 1996)
Destroy All Human Life (Fat Possum, 1999)
Secret Weapon Revealed at Last or Full Moon Empty Sportsbag (In the Red, 2003)

I know they pop up from time to time on eBay and Discogs, but maybe someone here has copies they wanna sell?
