I actually enjoy 'The Perfect Crime' as an album.  I paid 50 cents for a cassette of it and it was a walkman staple while running for a while...makes a good soundtrack for non-punk things like aerobic activities I guess.  "Crime" is certainly a hell of an opener to get you pumped up anyway.

Unless of course you're completely bewildered by the amount of records he's got that you've never heard of or have never seen

This. Had so many records I had no clue about. It was awesome looking through those boxes.

Fuck.  I wanna see.

This is probably one of the main reasons people should give the dude a chance; his collection is completely sick.  It's also fun to turn him on to records he hasn't heard of because he gets pretty stoked about them and asks a bunch of rapidfire questions and those are some of the best trades.  I get the feeling that most people who avoid Rob based on internet hearsay get an ego boost out of the fact that he hears about them having a lot of cool records and they are peronsally contacted by him (i.e. the KBD boogieman theory).  Which really isn't that creepy and is pretty tame if you think about it in the current age of cyberstalking and all...

I had the pleasure of spending the good portion of the afternoon hanging out with the Nox nearly two months ago when he swung through Texas.  I scored nearly a dozen cool records that I'd wanted in a combo of trades and minimal cash.  I personally didn't pick up anything super crazy rare (but there were the obvious Freestone, Reactors, etc I could've splurged on just in case I wasn't going to be buying a house and things like that) but I did get a lot of KBD things that aren't just gonna jump out of the bins at any given shop and bite your ass when you're waddling out of the store and complaining about how much record stores suck now.

But yeah, if you meet the guy in a neutral location, take a couple of handfuls of possible trade items that you aren't entirely emotionally or financially invested in (unless you're swinging for the lights), I don't see how you can possibly lose meeting up with him.  Unless of course you're completely bewildered by the amount of records he's got that you've never heard of or have never seen and blindly blow your wad on those.  It took like 3 hours to comb through seriously a dozen longboxes of 45's and then gruel over trade collateral and estimated values, but in the end, it was totally worth it and I can't wait til the roadtrip meanders back through.  And of course he's funny as hell and a nice guy all around.

Casual Victim Pile: Austin 2014.

Matador as prophets of hipster doom.

In all seriousness, that sucks-a good friend of mine was hit but is ok.  A friend of that friend is critical.  We passed up waiting in that line maybe an hour earlier.  Police chief press conference at 10:30 may impact rest of week...

I've completed a couple trades with the Nox and all around no complaints.  Super nice dude and pretty responsive too.  Yeah, his discogs prices may be a bit up there, but I agree with the thought that it's more of a trade list for him that occasionally he'll sell something off for a nicer price than it'd usual fetch.  KBD boogeyman-LOL!

^End of an Ear has them and does mail order.

$9 is what they've got on them.  Picked mine up within about an hour of them posting it to IG.

Easily one of my top 10 bands; love all eras but I'd have to say 'Nightlife' is the weakest link if I had to.  It just doesn't live up to "She Knows," the debut of the dual guitars, or the cover.

Saw mention of the Grand Slam stuff-yeah, it may be a sad footnote in Phil's life but there's still gold there.  I could listen to "She Cries" for like 2 days straight, despite the horrible demo quality.  "Sisters of Mercy" (not about the band) and "Gay Boys" (which is obviously pretty ridiculous) are also great tracks.

Got bored, had some drinks last night, and woke up to this in the morning.  Left for work and not to brunch.  Anti-climactic in the true "Brunch" sense, but I'd say this is Brunch as fuck anyway.  Fire away.

Is Michelob brunchable?  I'm sure it's Ultra formulation is brunch savvy.

Richie I picked up a different sleeve variant of the Badstreet USA single recently.  Currently have it on Discogs and eBay if you're interested.

All Mac is at least tangentially brunch, though Buckingham/Nicks is the epicenter.  Rumours is aural eggs Benedict, but the broads dressed like Stevie make it a bigger deal.  Also, Stevie Nicks -- c'mon.  (No tattoos.)  As an aside, Lita Ford was a babe.  Maybe still is.  Not brunch, but her pic on the gatefold of the S/T Runaways LP is insane.

I'd say any Mac before Christine McVie's joining in like 1970 isn't brunch-it's just a bunch hairy dudes too hungover to make it to the brunch so they're getting stoned and playing blooz instead.  Also, the Welch, Kirwan, etc Mac years are certainly brunchable..."Sentimental Lady?"  "Hypnotised?"  The album covers of 'Mystery To Me' and 'Penguin?'  Both of those just scream "OMG, frame me, I'm hideous looking AND a raer rekkid by the Mac that doesn't even have Stevie on it" to the brunch set I'd think.

Overindulgence isn't brunch.  Eating yourself into a food-induced coma and requiring a nap immediately upon return to a sleep-able location is definitely not brunch.  Remember, the act of consumption is not the sole purpose of brunching.  Brunch is not merely an action, but a multi-faceted sensory immersion.
