to bring back the philosophical end here or to try, this whole bullshit about music being shit now is for people who don't like music anyway or who have at least stopped paying attention for the time being thinking everything has peaked or whatever. as far as i can tell, there wouldn't be any hardcorepunk if there weren't songwriters first, personal expression being the key. so all the douches who insist that pop is for fags and only listen to something if it lacks a melody or any hint of musicality in general, you have no concept of the history of what you profess to be gods fucking gift to mankind. what does that say? i think it says you should shut the fuck up.
I've played plenty bills with the generic late 30's crust dudes, but i can't remember a single one who stormed out of the bar the second they heard a melody which this guy seems to be pretending to do. i think guys like these will either a) wind up gettin back into their parents' eagles and fleetwood mac records records when they have kids and inherit their dead paretns shit or b) be a fuckin waste cuz there are some serious other problems at work besides their musical taste and the amount of energy they spend defending it and dismissing 99.99% of the rest of the worlds.
who wouldn't want to go to a giant fucking party even if some of the bands were bad and there were only a few really good ones. fuckin party poopers ruined music if it evr got ruined
