Music Shit / Re: GORIES + OBLIVIANS / CHROME CRANKS reunion 2009 shows

Black Time can't play the Saturday day. Line up for that so far is (i'll refrain from any trad-euro descriptions): Thee Vicars, Hipshakes, Beast With A Gun, Murdocks plus one more tbc that andyisdisgusting might like....

Entrance fee will be as low as I can feasibly make it. You're probably looking at a ?5 shit fest.

Your show already isn't a shit-fest, purely based on The Hipshakes. If I can make it up for this then I'll definitely come to your show then get drunk then go and watch The Oblivians and The Gories. If money was no object ..

Good work Rick, gonna try and listen despite time difference. I want to pick up the 7" a lot, I thought the songs I heard had insane amounts of potential. Not potential in a patronising 'this ain't good' way but potential in a 'their LP is probably going to melt some faces'. I can feel it in my bones, hope I'm right.

Lee from Sonic Dirt is putting on a day show on that weekend in Nottingham with Black Time, Hipshakes and Beast with a Gun confirmed so far.

See thats the sorta thing this show should've been, not a ?59 shit-fest. I'd happily pay ?30, maybe ?40, for The Gories, The Oblivians and a bunch of really good UK/Euro bands like Black Time, Hipshakes, The Sticks, The Pheromoans, The Weakends etc. Including transport to Nottingham this would cost me over ?100. Eugh.

The band formerly known as Proteen Sheikhs is now just Teen Sheikhs.

'Damaged' still makes me punch the roof of my car and scream even though I'm almost 30. I don't if this is an indicator of the intensity of the music or the stuntedness of my brain.

Couldn't remember walking home last week after a pretty heavy night. Had an 'oh shit' moment a day later when I had a flashback to walking home, headphones in, singing along to Black Flag at the top of my lungs and jumping on things. I blatantly looked like the world's biggest idiot but from my limited recollection I had a lot of fun. Still my favourite band of all time.

Music Shit / Re: The Middle Class- Homeland

Without a doubt one of thee most underrated proto-hardcore bands. Homeland is cool but Out Of Vogue is the record for me, totally relentless.

They're just demos as far as i'm concerned anyways. Apparently its cos you kept on moving away from the mic. Dickslice

Ok cool-dude, all I know is that my lungs can do better than that. I should've have to be sucking the mike off to sound good, I just clearly fucked up. That was the last-take and I fucked up a riff anyway and it needs backin vox. SUCK A DICKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK.

Not as keen on this one mixed, my vocals are awful. Will probably re-record.

Me, a guitar, some bongos and a screwdriver. No joke, either. Keep in mind that these are just demo versions. I'll be re-recording them and like 5 others in about a month with Steve (singer for Outer Spacist) who also happens to be a damn fine drummer.

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Re: New Releases

there is a small handful of us here who are totally turned on in a very homoerotic way by physical violence.

That's awesome.

Blank Dogs "Up In Here" thread: first "where's my record" question clocks in at a dizzying 10 days after the preorder is announced. That's gotta be a new record...

It is a new record, thats why it was in the New Releases section ..

drugs sounds like dead milkmen = i like it.

Agreed.  The last record, and this one show hints of Dead Milkmen, which is great.

The spoken part in "Dirty Hands" always reminds me of "Bitchin' Camaro" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHzopVS0AKg

Seriously, my ex-housemate Luke used to listen to Bitchin' Camaro about 5 times a day, minimum. LOUD. Yes, when it kicks in its a choice cut, but no, I don't want to hear it five times a day.

I purposely waited to hear this until I could buy a copy of the LP.  I'm glad I did.

I did too!! I did with the last LP too.

Likewise and I am so glad I did, saw it in my local record store last week and snagged it, went home and listened to it, put it straight back on as soon as it finished. Just like I think Hobo Sunrise topped Yes No, I think that with a few more listens I could seriously put this at the top of the Hunches pile. Having said that, haven't listened to the first two in a couple of months so maybe I'll get blown away all over again and change tack.

Troubleman Unlimited gave me trouble, man. Saw Mike Simmoneti at ATP in the merchandise room, I was tripping hard and it was going a bit negative. I was feeling very weird and confused as to why Mike Simmoneti was the only man in such a massive room. In retrospect it was because it was the end of the day and all the other stalls had packed up. I felt like he was some Wizard Of Oz character, sans curtain, judging all entrants to the room. I sweated profusely, put some flyers down on the table and went on my unmerry way.
