Our good friend and all round loveable dude Matt Flag runs a tape label called Suplex Cassettes and they have posted our debut release, 'The First Four Months' (we know Tear It Up did that too), for sale. It is a cassette and it'll be in lovely packaging with full-liner notes. If you don't believe me then peep the Fair Ohs tape, it looks so great. The tape collects every song we've written within the first four months of being a band. If you've seen us live then every song you heard will appear on this tape (barring any covers). We are currently writing for our upcoming seven-inch for Captured Tracks & will be back soon.

That Pheromoans show was fun. LP is going to be a future-classic.

Teen Sheikhs are playing in London on Thursday at the Buffalo Bar in Islington.
Show is with Plug, Trashkit and Colours.

Andyisdisgusting, any decent gigs in Brighton next weekend?

As Nate said, Government Warning is sold out, which is a bummer as I forgot to pick up a ticket. Not really used to doing so for punk shows despite the frequent posts by the promoters saying it WILL sell out.

I'm going to go to Ducktails on Saturday at The Greenhouse Effect on Church Road (not to be confused with Church Street). I think it is only ?4 (if not then ?5) and they are pretty decent - http://www.myspace.com/ducktailss. My friend Corey is putting on the show and has project Arch M is supporting along with others. It'll be cool.

Oh and if anyone in or near Brighton is reading - PRURIENT & COLD CAVE IS TONIGHT.

Hey there, I'd check out the following thread, it is regularly updated;

Also, these guys put on shows in London - www.upsettherhythm.com - they've got Strange Boys, Nodzzz, Crocodiles, Wavves etc. coming up to give you an idea of some of the things they do.
 
Also, it is a 50 minute train ride to Brighton from London and we put on shows there - www.myspace.com/sexisdisgustingrecords or www.sexisdisgusting.co.u k. They usually rule.

There are so many other promoters doing awesome stuff in and around London, just keep checking that thread/add UK bands and labels on Myspace/look for flyers/posters in Rough Trade East.

I know your question pertained to venues rather than promoters but in all honesty, there are no venues in London that I can think of where you are guarenteed to get consistantly good shows. Also, D.I.Y spaces/house shows certainly exist but they are the rarity - you are mainly gonna be seeing bands in bars and clubs here but perhaps the occasional show will pop up in someone's house. Warehouse shows are pretty big here but a lot of them have security/a bar so really, it is just a bar in a big ole' warehouse. I think my band are playing a house show with Black Time and Black Mamba Beat maybe, we all spoke about it when we were drunk so perhaps that'll come together in September/after you arrive. peace.

I just had the worst burger I've ever eaten in my life. On campus bar that sells food. It was a bun, with a veggie burger in it, one of the ones you buy frozen in packs of 6 that is like breaded peas/carrots/chickpeas etc and NOTHING else. No salad, no condiment, nothing. ?4, what a bunch of dicks.
