Straw Man Army - His Majesty's Ship Original Soundtrack CD/booklet out in a month on Stucco Soundtracks

Any more info on this? I don't see a mention of a new Straw Man Army release anywhere online

Saw Mastodon in a small club right before they released Leviathan. Got to talk to the drummer for a few mins too. Also saw Avenged Sevenfold (lol) before they got big. They were opening for Shadows Fall.

Stargazer - Psychic Secretions

More melodic this time around and the prog has been amped up. Incredible musicianship all around, with a special hat tip to the bassist. The 38 minutes goes by fast.

Exhalants - "Atonement" LP. AWESOME noise rock from Texas. Total power! Sounds like a cross between Shellac, Unwound, Hammerhead & maybe Tar.

It’s really good. The bass on this alone is a pleasure to listen to. Thankfully the songs rip as well.

New album for anyone who still cares. It's great. The best production so far and quality songwriting

Dubstep: shit, right? Well would you believe that at one point,  right at the start when that name started being used, it was a truly exciting, innovative and amazing musical movement! The scene's centre was this tiny weekly club night (on thursdays) called Ffwd that I was lucky enough to go to a few times, and the Rinse FM radio station... and I just saw someone post this one radio show from 2005 that completely brings back how buzzing that whole time was. The guy on the mic, Chef, is also totally hilarious, but mainly this show seems to have Skream dropping all the heaviest deepest tunes from the very peak era of dubstep. It is like a different genre of music from what gets called dubstep now. Here it is

I still listen to some of the early dubstep. I was in love with the Digital Mystikz sound. I still am. Some of those tunes are all time classics. Plenty of good music from that genre. It's when the Home Depot/Lowes power tool fucks found the genre and turned it into shit

I don't know man, I liked Fucked Up ok. Not all of it, but they do a great job combining heavy doses of melody with some pretty decent songwriting. I'll listen to them maybe once a year but I can't think of any other band that is doing what they do. I'm also not looking very hard either.
