This was a bit under the radar - for me at least
https://www.discogs.com/Cheetah-Chrome-Motherfuckers-The-Furious-Era-19791987/release/9870033
I was ranting about the need for this reissue when I 1st joined this bawd......
Very choice. Pretty much all Italian sellers - not bought from Italy before but I'm wary of stories I've heard about disappearing packages sent from Italy. Is this still the case?

Either way - extremely stoked to see a long time want reissued.

Viral Age Records distro is selling it from the UK for ?20 (plus postage). It's fucking great, by the way.

There was a record shop called A-One in a rather shabby shopping centre in Glasgow. I'd just got into hardcore (this was about '86) and it was consuming my life. I didn't have much money as I was still at secondary (high) school, so all I had was my meagre pocket money (allowance, to you septics) and a thirst for knowledge. I'm sure I got Conflict's "Ungovernable Force" and Plague's "Just Say No" 7" in the 10" sleeve that day and looked on in awe at the other records there. The shop didn't last that long after that, but some good memories, nonetheless.

Had hundreds of tapes (the old TDK-D90!) from trading with folk from all over the world from the mid-late 80s. Threw them out (apart from one or two) a good few years back when my tape deck went kaput. Kinda wish I'd held onto them for purely nostalgic reasons.

There was a pretty cool doco on BBC2 Scotland earlier called Big Gold Dream about the punk/post punk labels, Fast Product in Edinburgh and Postcard in Glasgow. It's available on BBC iPlayer for the next 29 days. Definitely well worth checking out.

Should also mention that it's on youtube now, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wJMoZKceM8

Just ordered my copy from Drunken Sailor here in the UK. Fuck me, records are getting really expensive these days, but I'm sure it'll be well worth it for this. Looking forward to flicking through the booklet while listening to some great tunes.

The lyrics are disgusting, either you haven't read them lately or you're fucked up. Boo fuckin' hoo, poor little white minority.

You're trying too hard.

A shame as it's a pretty good site with some great reviews from some old MRRs.

So, I've listened to the latest Career Suicide LP and 7" and can report that both are great! Took a few listens to get right into them (especially the LP) as their last LP (Attempted Suicide) was so good, and the latest one didn't seem to 'flow' as well as that one. There are a few more 'quirks' on the new one but it's still pretty much all raging hardcore.

I use a Teac CD recorder (this recently replaced my Pioneer that I had for 15 years that my cat ended up breaking - snapped the tray right off the thing! Was coming to the end of it's life, right enough. The recorder, I mean, not the cat) and then rip it into the computer. Then I use an audio converter to turn to WAV files, then I use a track splitter to cut out the gaps between tracks. A lot of fannying about, but the results are pretty good.

Consumers lp. Shit kills. Holding out hope that there's more like this to someday be "unearthed."

While, I'm at it, anyone got any suggestions of similar things I may not know of?
I just got the Blades - "Surfcity Punkrock" LP on Gummopunx Records. LA band's demos from '79/'80. Think they had a few tracks on a BYO comp back in the day. Has that beach punk/almost-hardcore sound down pat. Real good stuff.

Picked up the pre-release of the new Career Suicide LP ("Machine Response") and their new 7" (same title) for their  Euro tour at their gig in Glasgow tonight. Still to listen to them, but I'm sure they both rip. By the way, they absolutely killed it tonight. Last saw them 8 years ago, so brilliant to see them again. Even had a wee boogie and sing/shout-along. Gonna pay for that in the next day or two, I'm sure. Worth it, though. Met Daniel Husayn (North London Bomb Factory) who seems to master everybody and their granny's records. Has not long moved to Glasgow. Very nice guy.

Just noticed a flyer for Career Suicide here in Glasgow this Saturday. Great! Knew they were playing London, but thought that was it for the UK. Supposed to have a 7" especially for this tour and are trying to get advance copies of their new LP in time, too. I'll be there with my ever-present poly bag to pick up any goodies.

AMM - The Crypt
Sugar - Copper Blue, Beaster, & File Under: Easy Listening
Opal -Happy Nightmare Baby
Able Tasmans - A Cuppa Tea

Realisation: I like Sugar better than H?sker D?. Am I crazy? 'Explode and Make-up' has been stuck in my head for two days, it's kinda like a smarter version of Stone Temple Pilots' 'Plush'.
Saw Bob Mould a couple of weeks ago and that got me back to listening to Sugar again. Loved them at the time and the records still sound great today. He played a ton of Huskers and Sugar stuff  and seemed to be in a particularly good mood that night considering he can be a bit of a curmudgeon.

Terrostat from Oslo. New ep out this weekend I believe.

https://terrorstat.bandcamp.com/album/6-spors-ep

Definitely has that Norwegian style from the mid-late 80's (Svart Framtid, Stengte Dorer, So Much Hate). Sounds good!

There was a pretty good doco on BBC4 last night called "Story Of Skinhead" by Don Letts. Traced the history of skins from the ska/bluebeat era through Oi! and the more recent German/Polish neo-Nazi elements. Should be on iPlayer for those interested.
