My knowledge of punk is limited I will admit. However, from what I have heard and read about the Ramones, they seem a bit overrated. I hope this is not considered blasphemy or anything. The music is ok, but is it also true that they were below average musicians? Someone suggested to me that they even had studio musicians help them do most of their record. Is thart that true? It just seems to me like maybe their attitude and "punk rock" persona had more to do with them being the face of punk than their actual music did. Any thoughts? Anyone wanna tell me why the Ramones are so revered?
