Speaking of tape....my Tascam 488 shit the bed.  When you hit play, the deck runs then stops after like 3 seconds. 

Is there anyone anywhere that repair old cassette recorders?

About to crack open my Tascam 488 and replace a capstan motor and belt for what seems to be the exact same problem.  Anybody have any experience with opening these things up -- any advice?

Anyone using Rdio?  I can't fucking stand the functionality of Spotify.

The web player (play.spotify.com) is much better than the standalone app

I just recall feeling like I had to enter HTML code to find a fucking record label's releases.  And then the results were still unclear.  I'll try the web app.

This isn't a critique of morals or anything, and especially not of anyone in the band.  But when shit makes you feel negative (and not the "good", welcomed kind of negative), it's good to explore whether you're right to feel that way.  If you're wrong, then you can get on with enjoying.  Just looking for some insight into the meaning behind the song(s).

Last year, I saw Watery Love and it was fucking awesome.  I was staying in New York on Long Island for a couple months and drove down to Maxwell's in Hoboken to see them play with Purling Hiss and Axis:Sova (all 3 sets were fucking great).  When I saw ITR was releasing their debut LP, I got super pumped.  I ordered that shit, and was more excited to hear it than any other album this year.

I threw it on my record player and on came "Pump the Bimbo"... and since then, I've had a hard time listening to Decorative Feeding.  Not that it's bad, because it's amazing and hilarious, but because I couldn't quite get past "Pump the Bimbo".  Now, I'm all for filth and crass and self destruction in my ears (otherwise I wouldn't be here), but I got stuck on one theme and I was hoping someone could clear this up... is this song about date rape?  I've spent the time between when I got the LP in the mail and now not listening often because I've been feeling like it's a bit tainted for me if it is indeed about date rape.

Anyway, if anyone has any insight, I'd love to hear it.  Because, I'd really love to listen to it again... or I'd really love to sell it on Discogs (or file and forget it).
