Hiroshi Yoshimura - Music for Nine Postcards
My wife got me a copy on vinyl for Christmas.  But I've been listening to it streaming more than anything because they really botched the press and it's got a LOT of surface noise.

I didn't realize there was so much material by this Neo Neos band, so I've been digging that shit up.  Don't know much about them, but they've been filling the NWI hole in my heart.

Also, for some reason I've been tripping back on old Anticon albums from when I was in college (2000-2004).  The weirder, the better.  Even though I've heard these albums a hundred times, I think there's a sense of unpredictability in sound that has been making them fun to listen to again.

Slightly off topic, but I just saw Dripper World is closing...  :'(

could be wrong...but i think its just the physical store, i think Sam is still gonna have some semblance of a store online.

Yes, he's still doing online stuff and now he can focus on his art more :)

Jealous tbh lol

Ahh that’s great news! I went to the store once and it was great, but I’d really miss the online store if it went away. Glad that’s not happening.

Neil Young “Live at Massey Hall” is fucking incredible. Such an amazing peek At the cusp of what I believe to be the best time of his output. The audio quality puts you in that fucking room too.

Also, I really like the Joy Division “Les Bains Douches”. It’s super lofi and blown out and just a really interesting way to listen to them play those songs. And the drumming is insane.

Townes Van Zandt “Live at the Old Quarter” is another one.

Timmy O gives zero fucks.

How has Keith Morris been forgotten? (EDIT: Missed it above, but kept the post for visuals.)

Listening to this Brandy "Laughing Track" LP... this shit definitely snuck under the radar.  How have I not heard more about this record?!

Yeah, you're right, it's a single LP. A typo. You got the files?!
Try slsk, you'll find it.

Got android devices only.  Any advice? (cept buy a new pc)

Can't help you on this, sorry.

It should be noted that I have a tracking number for a package sent by Siltbreeze purportedly arriving the 13th and containing a copy of this record. I'll report back...

Here we are... another month later. No fucking record.

Come on, man...

Keep walking -- nothing philosophical to see here!

Speaking of Institute, the other day I tried to listen to Subordination again, and it just does nothing for me. I can't put my finger on what it is. I loved the other one and the EP, but after a couple of songs of this one I just zone out. Whatever.

Same. I keep thinking I'm missing something, so I listen to it again, but... nope.

Forgive me if this has been talked about ad nauseam, but this Marbled Eye band is fucking good.  Just listening to them for the first time and hearing the same insane potential that I heard in Institute early on.  Excited to hear the new LP.

Lotsa Lamps, again, mostly Under The Water Under The Ground.  Hard to beat.  Whatever they're currently working on is likely to beat what they've already done (recent live show was great).  A+ band.

Some of the best live stuff I saw was when homegirl was on vocals.  Those were the songs that really surprised me.  I've always loved seeing Lamps (not sure how long she's been in the band), but it was especially great to see her step up and front some songs.
