New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Re: LIFE STINKS I LIKE THE KINKS #2

Great stuff! Any UK distros getting this?

Pentagram 'Last Daze Here'

Love that album. The (almost) title track can bring tears to my eyes (at 4am drunk). Any later Pentagram / Bobby Liebling in the same 'vein' (ha!)?

Just listened to 'Speed King' from 'In Rock'. Does nothing for me. Cocking out rather than rocking out. Yeah, Nazareth. From Dunfermline just a few miles away from me. Heard a pretty good ABBA  cover a while ago. 'S.O.S' maybe?

Ozzy can't improvise a melody. Only follows the root chord structure. Not saying it's worthless (like Zepp) just sonically limited. Still better than Deep Purple though. Gimme Thin Lizzy every time.
Deep Purple's In Rock album is the shit. 'Speed King' yo.

Deep Purple had the sharpest riffs in history. "In Rock" is a great LP, and that's just for starters. Sabbath, Purple, Lizzy, some LZ, there's no reason to talk shit on one just cuz you like another more.

Ouch! I'll try to be more polite next time. Consider me suitably chastened.

So you don't rate him? Fine.

No, I love the 1st Agnew solo LP as well as the early Adolescents and DI material. I think Christian Death have one good song that they managed to stretch out over an entire LP. That all being said, I think asking if Agnew's solo CD from 1992 with a photo of him as a turtle on the cover stacks up to 'All By Myself' is kind of funny. I mean, he does a Vice Squad cover on it.

I see your point! The sleeve is pretty funny but I like it! The only Rikk stuff i've got is the 'blue' adolescents & 'All By Myself' which I like but I don't know too much else about him other than the Christian Death link. He's not common knowledge here in Scotland, least ways not with any of the music nuts I know. I was just curious as to whether it was worth getting but couldn't find any sound clips on youtube. Weird thing is i've got it in my 'saved for later' shopping basket in Amazon.co.uk and tbe price swings from 11 up to 18 quid on a daily basis. I might pay the former but certainly not the latter...

Bent Wind LP

There was a Canadian comedian interviewed on BBC Radio 6 Music a while back called 'Baconface' or something and he picked a Bent Wind track as one of the greatest Canadian records of all time. Sounded great.

Are the Thor's Hammer and Bent Wind coming out at the same time? Looking forward to both albums.

Yup, right at the beginning of 2014. There will be a Termbo deal for the pair, 100 each on colour.

Will these come with DL codes? (I like to get tracks on my ipod for portable listening and i'm not a pointy-headed vinyl-ripper (yet)).

No. Honestly never even thought about it, although the Thor's Hammer deal was definitely for vinyl rights only.

S'fine really was just askng. Not a deal breaker for me. Prob still get them (depending on my cash situation/ postage charges). I appreciate the hard work guys like you go to to get great records produced and negotiating deals over mp3 rights / territories / coupons etc is prob an extra nightmare you could do without.

Just get on soulseek or whatever and you'll easily find what you need for your iPod.

The customer is ALWAYS right. Except when they want mp3s.

So you don't rate him? Fine. What about early Christian Death? For goths only?

Worth getting? Up to 'All By Myself' standard?
