errr, looks good any pricks in aus holding/getting copies?

Hey pricks,

Yes, $30 NZD indeed! michaelm2391@gmail.com is my paypal address. There are only two (2) copies left and they got both your names written all over em. Flick me a message with your address.

And: Cheap Thrills #2 is around the corner, it's gonna be even better. Hit me up if you got local distros/stores that wanna stock it!
Have hit you up (ouch). Suggest a horse racing tipster page for issue#2. Or at least a Graeme Jefferies / Cakekitchen profile / interview.
I thank you.

The tape or a download...if a digital version would you mind sharing?
Me too! Also read about this in BTC years ago.
('Daily Dance' sure was a lot easier to track down...)

I got my copy via youtube and this handy web aid for free:

Seriously, what with insane Shipping costs, I'm starting to think "fuck vinyl". It's for the wealthy. like blu-ray. Or having a nice place to live. CD is working class.

Great record though.

Pre-ordered the CD version. Plenty of time to see sense and cancel. Anyhow, they are almost guaranteed to have fucked up the vinyl pressing, and the sound quality is not likely to be 'audiophile' anyway.

I love getting cheated by the Pistols.

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Re: SCAM ALERT: Spin CD's
« on: May 28, 2016, 09:19:19 PM »
A sad state of affairs. I kinda doubted the veracity of your original post as I've never had any problem with them over many years (but not recently - my first order with them was, I think, the classic original 'Datapanik In TheYear Zero' Box Set late '90's, my last, I cannot remember). But after perusing some of that thread, it definitely seems kosher that they have had a lot of problems over the past year or so. I would imagine that there is a "cashflow" problem resulting in taking orders & payment for items which they don't have in stock and then constantly trying to play catch up with suppliers, hand to mouth, chasing their tail. ATP went the same way, until the merry-go-round stopped with the Drive Like Jehu non-event, leaving bands and customers holding the bag.

Probably another victim of the voracious all pervasive Amazon I imagine. I can sympathise with Spin's problems, but fucking over your customers is pretty shabby.

Action Records still seem good. What about Norman Records?  was a happy & regular customer there until problems began about a year ago with their website crashing my under-powered smart-phone.

Niche operations seem to be the way to go though - there's no way to compete with Amazon on a comprehensive catalogue / mainstream basis.

Investigate is clearly an enthusiastic music Fanatic .He may be naiive, express eccentric opinions and have major gaps in his knowledge (who doesn't? - Scrod excepted, natch). But he's enlivened this and other threads anyhow.

What he needs to realise is that there is a core of Termbo users who've been here for many years, know each other and reflect each others opinions and tastes, and regard this forum as their own personal Feifdom, rendering much discussion here a Closed Circle Jerk.

Still the best Music-centred-Forum on the WWW though. (Seriously, have you looked at the Steve Hoffman Forums? Pukeworthy.)

Music Shit / Re: The boy Kugelberg on the BBC

Nearly three years on and STILL no sign of that Kugelberg book, "What Do Termbros Think Of The Beard?". How long must we wait? My stubble's getting kinda itchy...

Coley n the gang were making fun of that dude like 30-40 years ago already. How hard is it to "get" the Ramones?
Coley doesn't 'get' Bo Diddley. How 'hard' is THAT?

Used to see that 'Electric Heat' 7" fairly regularly in the 2nd hand record shops of old Edinburgh toon back in ze 80's. Picked it up quizzically but always put it back. Never knew for sure if it was any good - though it sure looked interesting - and I was too preoccupied with scoring Fire Engines Vic Kleenex Dexys Richard Hell Feelies Nightingales Chilton et al disques. Another one that got away.

Anybody UK based getting copies?

Any copies going to UK / EURO Distro's?
(Masterpiece of a cover BTW!)

Non-Music Shit / Re: New postage rates
« on: January 13, 2016, 01:36:35 PM »
My foreign orders drastically shrank after the LAST huge round of Shipping cost rises. This sounds like the absolute begining of the end. Seems like Jerry's comments above might be on the nose; the number of international packages drastically reduced after that last hike, so they're increasing prices again to try to recoup THOSE losses. Duh!

My sympathies to those trying to do interesting projects; FD/TP, Ugly Pop, Spacecase, etc. Any chance of another Mail  Carrier stepping in with more 'competitive' rates? Just wishful thinking, I s'pose.

Utter madness...

ONE OF THE BEST BANDS IN THE WORLD
Agreed. But ?14 UK PLUS Shipping? Why no CD (again)?

Music Shit / Re: Bowie Dead
« on: January 11, 2016, 05:47:53 AM »
Was my first musical obsession - and a gateway to so many others. Bailed out after Let's Dance and never looked back for a very long time. In the Bowie way I like to think. But you never really put your first loves away forever. And so it was that this morning I found myself playing the Man Who Sold The World LP before turning the TV on and hearing the news. Probably hadn't played it in 20 years or longer (I don't have to play his records really, everything up to Scary Monsters is engrained in my psyche forever.)

But I will listen to him all day today.

Chandra and Ti-Tho have been reissued officialy as well
Okay. If this turns out to be all reissued officially already, dats a diff'rent matter. Comps like this should be excavating 'new' old nuggets.
