Music Shit / Re: Kawakami RIP

Can't believe this was so long ago, always loved Disclose in spite of the glut of other d-beat bands. Also paved the way for bands like D-Clone, who are really on another level.

Damn, All Skrewed Up is all sold out

RSD reissue of Dunedin Double.

Nice not to have to pay a hunnerd bucks for this.

Hell yeah, feels good to have this. It's too bad the Stones didn't have more output as it's easily the strongest stuff on here I feel. Wish CT (or anybody) would reissue all the early Clean shit again too while they're at it.

4xLP version of the clean anthology out soon-ish:

That's dope. Comes out the same time as Reigning Sound's new record too which, judging from what I've heard of it sounds at least on par with Love and Curses.Albeit with an even worse album cover

The Odditties 2xLP that 540 Records (Timmy Hefner/Chaos in Tejas) put out is still pretty easy to find for 20-25 bucks.

yeah i can sell you mine in a heartbeat in you need it...don't like that record at all.
I liked this one but it reminds me more of The Great Unwashed stuff, doesn't quite have the punch of the early singles.

The label is still selling the best one.

That's the one I have. In fact the greatness of Rock n Roll Babylon probably colors my fondness for all their later stuff

Checked there, but there's no way the second Inepsy LP is a $40+ record, I can't justify that. Somebody has to have them for a reasonable price

Couple years ago every punk distro had the LPs in perpetual stock, now I can't find em anywhere. Got the first LP, need the other 2, plus the picture disc and whatever else is out there. Anybody know of a distro that still has them in stock, or does somebody want to sell theirs?

Music Shit / Re: Off! rips off Catatonic Youth ripping off Pettibon

First Off! album is sick, but their mission statement of intentionally not appealing to punks seems mondo retardo. I'm surprised they, or Pettibon, are even aware of the CY record

As far as I can tell these all suck. I got the girlfriend one of those pink Crosleys that looks like a suitcase or whatever. She likes it cause it's cute but I can't fuckin stand it, sounds like MacGyver made it with a tin can and a paper clip, and the needle jumps if you fart too loud.

Alice Coltrane, Ptah the El Daoud - Been wanting this one for  a while, turned up in a dollar bin today and it sounds great. Don't  own much jazz but something about her sound really does it for me, and this one is the best I've heard from her so far, perfectly paced, well-rounded album. Gonna throw on Pharaoh Sanders, Thembi after this and zone out.

Should maybe have dug up the jazz thread but if anyone has suggestions for other albums with the same kind of meditative/spiritual vibe besides Sun Ra, I would be appreciative.

If Monks don't count then probably the Nerves, although I may be thinking too strongly about bands that embody some kind of imagined American musical ideal.
