We here at King Pizza Secret Moonbase have a couple of new analog goodies for the holiday season.

Linear North's Mine is Yesterday, I Know Tomorrow is a heavy hunk of space psych that'll upset your grandma, mother, father, dog, and make your little snowboots groove in the arctic tundra.

Psychiatric Metaphors' The Seeker is psych-punk madness rolled into a spliff, smoked, and running around the city without a jacket on.

We released our first three tapes in June (Greasy Hearts, OTTO MANN, and ?Vamanos!) and since then have finished up two more tapes and recently finished up our online store. We've got a bunch of stuff on there and a lot more on the way. Also our Bandcamp has a free sampler of a bunch of bands and we've got another one of those on the way too!

Music Shit / Re: Best 2013 Lps
« on: December 10, 2013, 07:51:13 AM »
I'm sure I'll forget some other great ones, but I'm really into these:

Dirty Fences - Too High to Kross
Fuzz - S/T
NANCY - S/T tape
Useless Eaters - Hypertension
Purling Hiss - Water on Mars
White Fence - Live in San Francisco
The Gabba-Ghouls - S/T tape

Both that Purling Hiss record and the live White Fence are definitely in my top 5.  I was blown away by how great that live White Fence album sounds -- so much more power than I remember when I saw them live.  They did a great job recording it.

I'd also add these two...

RUNNING - Vaguely Ethnic
A Place to Bury Strangers - Strange Moon

Also, the Oblivions record took all year to grow on me, but finally I love it. Except "Pinball King". I think I hate that song.

I just heard Running yesterday and I was considering posting it just because I took such an immediate liking to it. I haven't seen White Fence live but the Live LP is way more interesting than their studio material for that exact reason. It sound so immediate and powerful in a way that felt lacking in the studio. I think their studio stuff is cool, don't get me wrong, but if I had to choose anything, it'd definitely be this one.

The new Night Beats record is also a lot of fun. I haven't listened to the new Oblivians much yet but I'm glad that it does get better with a little time. I like what I have heard but it didn't make me want to rush out for it.
