the insane glut of free online recordings means tastemakers can't/won't pay attention to everything. when tastemakers aren't hovering over microscopes, musicians aren't bombarded with bullshit outside attention, and their music is able to organically prosper (not monetarily, you greedy suckers). keep flooding the goddamn market so the "cream" can fizzle on the college circuit and the aspiration-free sediment can get fucking freaky.

pc worship's last death by audio show. probably played three songs in 30+ mins. mostly harassment of one another and botched attempts at sweet leaf/sweet loaf. undeniable. pure. shitheadery. my favorite band.

brain f/'s "reunion" show at phuzz fest in winston-salem. band had never been that tight before. i don't get it. there was magic in the air. sorry state ceo dr. dan and i were freakin. my other favorite band.

protomartyr at now that's class. pretty sick from what i remember. i think i hit somebody with a chair. drummer alex let me sleep in his bed at a fancy hotel that night. true love. my other other favorite band.

good throb at nice price books in raleigh. WHAT? vitriol! was pretty blown away.

run the jewels new years show at lincoln theatre in raleigh. ended 2013 and started 2014. shit was awesome. my wife and i are still trying to pay off that bar tab. met the dudes after the show, too, and they were cool as shit. also killer mike did his verse from "never scared."

also swans, spray paint, nasa space universe, wymyns prysyn, priests, los ninos du brasil, dj big hank, the hyperdub package and a bunch of other stuff i can't remember.
