that beardo with glasses in the first quarter of the video and his band made me want to kill myself.  is this what the "garage" scene in the USA has turned into?

Shitty finds.

Almost makes me want to do a jackets follow-up to the crust pants article, but its already been done by a real print magazine, so what's the use?

Cities / Re: DC ?
« on: January 27, 2010, 05:25:40 PM »
I'd say so.  You can get a half smoke from a street cart, but not many of them will come slathered in chili like you get at Ben's.  Unfortunately, it seems like they know how popular they've gotten and raised the prices accordingly.  When I was back in December, it was like $12 for a half smoke, chili fries and a soda.  Used to be like $8.

If you're only going to be there for a couple days, see the museums as much as possible, with short breaks to eat at good restaurants like Ben's Chili Bowl (kind of far from the museums) or Two Amys (also far).  Take in a movie at the Uptown one night.  As of three years ago, bars were pretty much a bust.  Nightlife was pretty much a bust.  You could go to Georgetown and get an expensive tattoo at Jinx Proof, then drown your sorrows in greasy vegetarian Chinese food at Harmony.

Actually, if the weather isn't insanely cold, you should check out the National Zoo.  Free and a great way to spend a sunny afternoon if you like walking around.

I'll be back in town from the 31st - 4th, but I am spending the majority of my time at friends' houses playing Wii and drinking six packs of Dogfish Head.

Music Shit / Re: I'm listening to Italo disco
« on: October 30, 2009, 03:57:18 PM »
I hated the idea of this genre

I hated this stuff on principle

Not trying to bait you guys or open a can of worms but.. care to elaborate?  I don't really understand approaching a whole genre of music in that manner.

Basically disco = death of rock'n'roll.  So Italo disco must've meant the death of Italo rock'n'roll.  all disco sucks.

This is how I feel:

:( x 1000

I hated this stuff on principle when it blew up a few years ago and now, I'm listening to it for the first time and I see that I was right in hating on it on principle alone.

This doesn't sound like ZOMBI at all.

Cities / Re: Visiting Miami
« on: October 26, 2009, 04:21:16 AM »
I might be there around December 23rd - 29th this year as well (visiting the parents) and would definitely like to spend one night out of my mind with some other 20somethings.  What's the deal?

One of the few bands that can get away with making fun of their audience from start to finish and still have people cheering them on.

Enough about vocoders and auto-tune, let's talk about TALKBOXES.  Talk about them via our guitars.
