New Austin bullshit coming out . Mirror http://mirrortx.bandcamp.com/album/universal-dismay-7

I got ETT's email blast this morning, and was wondering why I hadn't heard more about this.  Shit is good.

I'm digging this too. Best Texas jams I've heard since Institute & Glue.

I sampled new music from The Adolescents, Dag Nasty and The Descendents...Briefly sampled, very briefly...Are they all on Epitaph?
Makes me wonder, since I certainly loved them to varying degrees when their best stuff came out but after those one or two albums, I wouldn't listen to a second of it except "All ages show" because I'm an old man now...Punk oldies? Who would've thunk it? Just as bad as all those "Dinosaurs" we used to so heavily deride...Had a regular music fan buddy of mine talk about how little old stuff Paul Weller played when they saw him...Fuck that! Paul Weller can get stoned and play whatever the fuck he wants. Not that I would see him, but as much as I love the Jam, I really do not want to see him try to pull any of that off in any fashion, except maybe English Rose or Smithers-Jones  ::) ::)...Now I'm listening to the new Acid Mother Temple etc. and it is making my fillings hurt, so please excuse the rant...

New Adolescents is awful! It's out on Concrete Jungle, a German label. It sucks so hard it hurts.

New Descendents on Epitaph, on the other hand, is listenable. Nothing earth-shattering, but they manage not to be cringe-inducing. And I like the Adolescents' early stuff more than the Descendents' early stuff!

I haven't listened to the new Dag Nasty but I know it's on Dischord.

I've only heard the new Adolescents so far, and I was unmoved, as expected.

Nothing could be worse than that Zero Boys "Monkey"  album though.

This is pretty funny: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=N6L8DfimRCc

"Hitler was a nazi" may be one of my favorite song titles of all time.

Someone may have already mentioned it, but Government Issue Legless Bull. I had it on an unmarked cassette as a kid and didn't know who the band was for years, only that I loved it.

Der Stab 7"

Easily one of of my favorite singles of 2016 so far. "Tracers" is a ripper that sounds like something I should have heard years ago. Vocals remind me a little bit of The Freeze when they first kick in and Rikk puts down a serious guitar solo on this track.
The B-side is more of a weird number that brings to mind Team Goon-era D.I. & Christian Death (which would be later projects for the stand-in members on this recording.) Yes.

Kaliedoscope Vol 2 No. 1 7"

First heard this a couple weeks before it came out whilst flipping through records @ Material World and tried to get them to sell me the test press (wasn't happening.) Dig the plodding grooves, psychedelic nuances, and of course that guitar work. First song on the second side "Field Report" is the winner for me.

J.J. Doll 7"

I really want to see this band live now. Sounds, as you'd expect, like new school NYC, but quite catchy and the weird inflections in her vocals really bring it all on home for me. Added bonus - my 3 year old daughter loves to bop around to this record.

Blazing Eye 7" (U.K. Press)

Slept on this the first time around, so glad to finally have the actual record in my grips. This band just kills, doesn't get old.

Electrocutioner "5 Trax Demo" 7"

I read somewhere that this is a one-man band deal, and I'd say a pretty solid one. Total stomping scuzz-fest with lotsa Jap HC influence and gurgly satan-spawn vocals. A little rough in spots, but in a certain mood, this hits the spot pretty good. Anyone know if the 2nd 7" is any better?

Alan Milman Sect "Punk Rock Christmas" 7"

Gifted to me by a friend who said I was remiss not to own it. He couldn't have been more right. Stitches In My Head/I Want To Kill Somebody is one of the greatest 1-2 K.O. punches in punk history, but you already know that.

Gino and the Goons "Love and Hate" 7"

Not my favorite stuff from Gino & co. by a long shot but I'm still happy to have it. B-side wins. Says these tunes were recorded in 2014 so I'm assuming they were outtakes from the Shake It LP. Definitely one of my favorite current bands, I found out that they're playing in Philly in a few weeks but everyone I know here is lame and won't go with me.

Perverts Again - "Our Big Party" LP

Fucking Cleveland. Should I just move there in hopes of getting infected with the awesome weirdness that seems indigenous to the region? This album is oddly satisfying and addictive. If someone were to just describe their sound to me i'd likely pass, but upon actual listening, I'm hooked. Strange, funny, and great. There's a song called "Figgy Pudding."

Anxiety LP

Tied right now with Black Panties' Dead and Gone LP for favorite record of 2016 so far. A nice recipe of elements here in this weird and jarring brew. Tinges of anarcho-style like Flux of Pink Indians infused into a modern HC approach not unlike that of some of the best NY bands, all slathered in layered noise and distortion. I also really like some of the lyrics on this, which is rare these days.

Richie Records Summer Singles Series -

Homostupids

Couldn't wait to hear this one and it's good as I had hoped. Only listened a couple times so far, but my early favorite of the three tracks is the single track side's "Sneaky Leaker." This will get many happy flips.

Moredecai

I hadn't previously listened to this band much, but this single got me to finally cue up the LPs to check out. Two solid, pretty mellow tracks here followed by a little outro jaunt that ends abruptly as the grooves run out. Good stuff.

Watery Love

Haha this is so fucking great. I love "Pump The Bimbo" as much as the next guy, but I think the one side of this (one song on each side and the record's not marked so I don't know which is which) is my favorite WL track yet. The other one is also A material. Recommended.

that Anxiety record is too good

It's pretty awesome

So good. First time I ever felt compelled to purchase the dl. I would have paid it for "I'm The Worst" alone.

Been lurking on Termbo forums for a while. Here goes.

Sick. Post more. S.Clay Wilson is one of my all time favorites - those 'Mythology...' books on him are incredible, can't wait for the third one to come out...

It's like an XNO layout drawn by S. Clay W and inked by Charles Burns. Cool combo.

I'm gonna go with "Walk In Cold" as my top NR anthem. Really I'm permanently sick of Allrise and Jettison due to listening to them constantly back in the day but I'll always have an appreciation for them. I feel that way about many of my early faves, Milo Goes To College, etc.

Learn from the experience. With your "practice spouse" out of the way you can now find your real one. A worthy one.

Also, punk.

The best thing FAT ever put out was the worst Dickies album.
