I know of a young lady you might really hit it off with.

Do you enjoy drinking in dark chambers?

Also, on the topic of NR's post-punk influence, I'm pretty sure that "Roller Queen" from Throb Throb takes its cues from LiLiput's "Eisiger Wind"

The whole 90s pop punk fan base are middle aged dudes

Kids listen to screamo type bands if they still listen to RnR at all.....pierce the veil and avenged sevenfold....shir of that ilk

I'm out West right now and stuff like SW/Dickies/Queers/NOFX are still a main event.  It really boggles my mind that grown ass men still listen that pablum

You can't lump The Dickies in with that lot.

^ you beat me to it.

P.F. Commando - Jag En Duva

Don't get me wrong, I love Manipulerade Mongon, but this "mature", rockin' P.F. record has been hitting the spot all the way through for me lately.

Holy blanket statement, Batman!

Who's got the hammer?

I have a 1st pressing Big Zit 7" or an Ivy lp I will trade for it. Or the Dribble 7" on Cool Death.

^ Yeah, I only could find a few songs on Soundcloud, I'm hoping that eventually someone uploads it to the Youtubes.

Here ya go. This blog is a pretty good resource for punk/HC stuff.

^"Raygun.....Naked Raygun" still holds up well for me too. They also released a series of singles in recent years that weren't terrible. Hearing them cover the Buzzcocks made me realize how much Buzzcocks influence they had all along.

"Treason" is also tops in my book. I always envisioned it as the theme to some intense political drama or something.

I just recently plunged into the Effigies catalog hoping to get more Raygun-ish fix and they're cool, especially the early stuff, but not close to as good as N.R. to me.

I'm not into the "woah,ho" either, and I skip most of those tracks these days. 12 year old me would have told you that "Soldiers Requiem" was one of the greatest songs ever written.

Great, great band. Throb Throb is essential,  and really all of their records after that are good. I'm likely in the minority with this, but "Understand" is probably my favorite of the bunch in retrospect. That song "The Mule" on Jettison. So much good shit. They had a knack for crafting songs that had a sci-fi/action feel unlike any other band I've come across. I used to imagine comic book stories based on "Peace-Maker" as a kid. "Wonderbeer" was my personal anthem as a teenager. And "Rat Patrol" still gets me fired up every time.

I really wish Black Panties would ditch the keyboards though.

Agreed. I prefer organic hate to synthetic.

Also, I listened to some of that last Kremlin tape and it smokes. Some metally guitar I wasn't expecting, but goes great against the rest of their commotion. Again, somebody get this stuff on wax.
