you should find out which wolf eyes record on american tapes that is and put it on ebay. if henry rollins doesn't already have it he usually goes on the up and up of winning bids averaging around $300-400, and thats for fucking cassettes and cd-rs, dude!!

AWFUL NEWS.
kickass dude.

just read an interview with him in DEEP RED magazine from about 89/90, thought to myself "wow, he's so fucking cool. he's gotta be so old now!" not more than three weeks ago.

he had a long run. still very sad to hear it.

oh, also, forgot this one (don't know how) LAUNDRY ROOM SQUELCHERS closing out the international noise conference in chicago. most of the female squelchers got naked, while running around the giant space 'squelching'.... i got hit in the leg with an amp and i think it bruised the bone.  leslie keffer said outside afterwards while she was looking for pot to smoke "we just figured we might as well take off our clothes, for the people that stuck it out and stayed for the show."
chaotic & beautiful.

i went to both of those screenings, but unfortunately missed out the first week of holy mountain due to blizzard weather conditions, when i made it there the following week it had been shafted to one of the small theaters due to showgirls being the main midnight event that weekend.

not like i hadn't seen each of them about a dozen times each before, but seeing the remastered prints on a big screen was cool as fuck.

the dvd set is very nice too... too bad santa sangre hasn't had its US re-release yet, kind of indifferent about rainbow thief.  have the vhs. have watched it a few times.  its okay, but nothing too special.

[edit] - oops, when i said dozen times each i should have said something like 20+ for holy mountain.

i found one of those exact bottles mostly empty at some shitty bar in milwaukee last year.  someone i was there with got mad at me for putting the remaining powder on my hand and licking it to make sure it was coke.  LIVIN' DANGEROUSLY.

I saw tallcans of an Extenze drink at the Fast & Easy Mart in Davis. I was like "WHO'S BRINGING THIS TO THE PARTY???" Then I thought about that dude in the man-on-the-street montage in the 30-minute Extenze infomercial....The one that looks like a middle-aged version of the singer of A-Ha...Y'know, the guy who admits to using Extenze, and when the interviewer-gal asks "You're not afraid to admit it?", and he's like, "NOOOO!!!!" And that's when I imagined this idiot at a party holding the can carefully so that the word Extenze is facing out.

Seriously, though....Who is buying this shit??
i can't quote right, oops

reminds me of the time someone i lived with was given a bunch of viagra by his boss and brought it to a party and handed em out to drunk dudes.
"what is this gonna do to me?"
"don;t worry, it'll only give you a boner."

haven't worked in a while, have no vehicle, so most of the shows i've attended this year have been limited to friends bands.

it's biased to say cuz i was slightly involved but the nobunny's nuthouse show last sunday was pretty awesome.   i haven't really seen a show full of weirdos and a crowd full of weirdos that has gone so very well together and everyone had fun at like that since probably around 2000.

one of the other times nobunny played chicago this year i skipped out before okmoniks, but ended up at the green jello show that was going on that same evening. free entry. pretty retarded, and VERY surreal (first thing that happens when me and my freinds show up in the venue mid-GJ set was the singer dude looked at me and said "YOU. come up on stage!"

CONSUMER ELECTRONICS show was amazing.  twenty minutes, not like any of philip's recorded output old or new (i think there is a brand new one i havent heard yet) but more like his work in the later years of whitehouse where you can't really differentiate who was singing, philip or william.  fucking awesome show.   hot as hell in the tiny venue.  spent most of the night outside.

bobby conn show right before his "temporary break from shows to write songs and spend time with family" in february.  opened with bowie's "oh you pretty things", played with a full band, including lots of old songs and special guests.

missed quintron because i thought it was something like on a date like the 30th, but when i looked into it i realized i added a zero to the date and was unfortunately a month late.

thats a handful of favorite shows this year.

Do they still make Tilt?  It's one of the main ingredients in my "ecto-cocktails" which I'm sure I've disgusted you all by mentioning on here before.  Equal parts: Green Tilt, Green Mad Dog, Champagne

I've been known to throw back a Sparks or two as well.  Disgusting doesn't disgust me.

green mad dog is FUCKING AWESOME. the apple one at least.

the answer lies in RIP IT.  i don't know whats in this shit that makes it more effective, but its CHEAP AS FUCK.  its got all the stuff all the other ones have and maybe more.  the price is printed on the can, but they aren't in all the gas stations like monster, red bull, etc. in wisconsin they are .99, in illinois most of em run 1.09.  don't know why. 2 cans is usually enough to get me 'ripped' for the whole evening, usually not being able to sleep til sometime around 9 am and 11 am the next morning.

i used to drink rockstars and then moved on to monsters. the taste of monster i like a little better.  effects seem to be the same, which sometimes is no effects at all.   an excuse to live hard at night and go to work early, thinking 'this energy drink will make it okay'.  wasn't typically the case however.

red bull is good but i mean it's pretty expensive, for the same shit you get in a lot of these double servings for the same price.   but it did pave the way for all these other ones, and i'll drink it from time to time if i ever have the extra cash (hah! this hasn't been for like 2 years!!)  i did clear out a partys supply of a 6 or 12 pack of them this summer, having drank like more than 3/4 of them mixed with a handle of vodka throughout the whole night.

i set a reminder to watch MAURY today but didn't turn my tv on until it was too late. i think it was his halloween show, cuz they had these previews yesterday with this "vampire" who drank real blood and it looked unbelievably awesome.   the one day i'm awake and don't turn my tv on... yeeegh!  i don;t really watch maury anymore, haven't really been a watcher since it turned from freak shows/disability showcases (i was very inspired by the black burn victim girl, and the girl with no legs who wanted to be a singer) to praternity tests and cheating spouses.   what a bore.

but now its STEVE again and i saw this one, its awesome mom who claims her daughter has 'sex demons'...... c'mon... SEX DEMONS.  how awesome is that?  steve shoots down her theory pretty quickly.

the second half is this buck toothed 'slow' girl who lies to her mom and tells her she is pregnant.

you don't need to, but you're 'supposed' to, and it helps a little bit.

there is still a lot of mindfucking going on in FWWM though, with or without past knowledge of the show and characters.   phillip jeffries? judy? whoa.

"Remember back in the early 80s when noise was actually harsh and scary?"
pretty funny cuz i might make a blank guess that most of the people who would say something like that only 'remember' their noise being like that on records they probably got in the past couple years.   tha's kinda cute though.
