Non-Music Shit / Re: Is your stash older than Jesus?

as a adolescent we found this tiny bag of weed in my friends dad's army jacket that he inherited.   we smoked it.

but no way it was older than this jesus weed. it pre-dated our very own existences though, that was good enough

SMOKING IS SEXY!!! That's why I do it.  Other sexy things I do: never change my clothes, never wear make up, never comb my hair.

mmmmm, gross.  i wouldn't stick my dick in you.
no way thats totally awesome, and VERY PUNK as well.

lived at a place where we treated the landlords and their living space like TOTAL SHIT.
got dogged out like once a month for making their place look and smell like a garbage dump.

one day around december 05 we realized the house was just getting colder. got kind of scared that they weren't gonna help us out based on the way we treated them and their building.   anyways, we put in a call to our landlord and found out he moved to colorado (instead of living under us in the unit below) but he made a call and had some dudes come fix our shit within 24 hours. totally awesome!!!

oh we also never signed up/paid/got in trouble for not paying the gas bill.   double awesome.

camel crush sucks!  some thug at the train station offered me one like 4 months ago, told me it tasted 'just like a camel light'.  he forgot to say ULTRA in there somewhere. the menthol kind of sucks too.  it was a cute novelty when i cashed in my free pack coupon to get drunk and pop the menthol ball with my teeth.

they still send me coupons for em like once or twice a month but i have since learned that i can use them on almost any camel product, which makes them very useful.

the snus coupons though -  ugh!  free packs?  who cares.

Non-Music Shit / Re: Movies I've been watching

Carne & I Stand Alone are pretty amazing movies. I saw I stand alone maybe 6 or so years ago, and didn't track down a copy of Carne until last spring.   Both are EXCELLENT. "The Butcher" is such a great anti hero.

Irreversible is a very interesting movie, but I saw it in the theater, and when I bought the home release of it, watching it back it seemed like some of the intensity was missing.  I don't know if it was because I had originally seen it so large/loud, or that it might not have the same effect upon repeated viewings.   I thought that putting Jean Louis Costes in an early scene in it was a pretty good choice.  Really liked the ending the first time I saw it.  There was an old couple behind me that I don't think knew what they were getting into, and they left abut 25 minutes in.  Despite the story of this movie having so many walk-outs, I think a lot of that had to do with the nauseatingly shaky camera shots, which I am pretty damn sure Noe was very aware of the effect they would have.    Oh, and when I was walking out of the theater I saw a semi-famous Chicago underground figure walking out of the theater as well.

Anyways, I Stand Alone is top quality.  Irreversible is also top quality, I just desire to come back to it a lot less than the other.   I would suggest either of them to anyone who is into movies "like that"...  Gaspar Noe is also supposedly finishing his new full length film soonish.

is there anyone who wants to send me SATAN'S STORYBOOK on vhs?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098254/

i think i saw it on tv when i was a kid and it changed my life.  i could be thinking of something else, but i think the whole heavy metal murderer who talks to satan idea i have in my head came from this movie.

oh, related the unfortunately unreleased RICKY 6 about ricky kasso is pretty good.  the 15 minute SAY YOU LOVE SATAN by jim van bebber about ricky is awesome too, i think it might be available on the new version of DEADBEAT BY DAWN (also good. in fact van bebber hasn't made a movie i haven't enjoyed)

that going to blu ray stuff is making me a little nervous.
i guess the only two i really want to buy are that re-issue of SALO that came out the other month, and SWEET MOVIE.  other than that i think i have the only ones i really 'need', right now the only titles i can think of though that i have is jubilee and the silver disc bootleg of the old print of salo.   ehh.  prices are waaaay too high.

of course its no where near as excellent as the first LP or anything... i think i more or less love the novelty value of it and knowing how much it pissed off mike.  i like stan way better too.

well, i was about 8 or 9 when it started and was pretty die hard about watching them all.  third season lacks substance, but is alright in it's own way.  they actually had some pretty good programming aside from just LTV, however.  for a lil bit.

whens the last time the beatoffs played?  last year at apop?   if that is it i don't know if it should be said that they're 'playing again', as in 20 years they've done maybe 4 or 5 shows tops.   the early singles are INCREDIBLE, the full length records are also pretty amazing.  saw their show in chicago about 6 years ago, was everything i expected it to be and nothing short of amazing.

about DRUNKS -  mikeys website has been up, been that basic, and said he was searching for members almost forever now. at least 8 years now.  what a shitty website!!  it would be pretty interesting if he ever did get it started again though. though i would imagine the chance of another beatoffs show or two happening before that ever would.

i love all the early drunks stuff and mike's stuff after the initial split is decent, but i really really love when stan hired the 12 year old melissa to be the new vocalist and put out a double 7" and a split with her singing.  what the fuck?  brilliant!!!
where is she now?????
