i'll stick by my previous statement of 'if you grew up in the children of god cult, you shouldn't be openly talking about how you grew up in the children of god cult'

but it seems to work when you wanna get famous
so good going to GIRLS on that one
and the phoenix family (the living members at least)

holy shit- somehow i missed '4 days out' during the original run of season two, i have no idea how or why...i suppose i never questioned it because it seems to just be a walt & jesse episode, taking a slight break from developing storylines. kind of like the 'fly' of season two? glad i'm revising the whole series

to the post above hoping for more flashbacks with gus - there was an interview i read with vince gilligan from the other day where he stated that he really didn't want to let gus go, and even though he is for sure GONE, there is always the chance of flashbacks.. but he also said that he thinks it is best for gus' chilean past to be shrouded in mystery... but also again, he stated that any of this can change (aside from the absolute conclusion of the character existing!) when he gets together with his 6 writers in november....

also read mention of one of the people being upset about what happened would most likely be mike, and how mike wasn't someone he would want to piss off...

oh and that what we are all geeking out about was never meant to end the series, but he wanted to make sure that most things were concluded and that the ending of that episode would have been a good place to leave it had they not been renewed, which they were unsure of at the time of doing all of season 4.

also - when walt planted the bomb on the car, was he wearing gloves (i didn't notice and can't check right now) the car in the hospital will be looked at eventually when they realize it's been what appears to be abandoned, and that it belongs to gus and that jesse was questioned about ricin during the same time could come into play - and i ask about the gloves, because could a thorough investigation of the vehicle turn up walt's prints on the vehicle if they were to go so far as to get that into investigating why it was in the hospital parking garage?

mike already doesn't like walt, and if he was on gus' payroll that is now cut off.

and it wasn't 'everyone' suggesting old lady! it was me and one other person saying good point. they checked tio's room for bugs and cameras, it almost implied that this old folks home was so laid back (walter just coming as he pleases to talk to tio? and leaving gus unattended so he can tell tio the cartel is over?) that they might not have had that great of a visual security system, if any at all.

the face off in 'face off' definitely looked a bit too fake, but as i already said i was more than fine with that.

again, they have done such a great job stretching out a limited plot into so many interesting & great episodes that for now i have no problems with the idea of 16 more episodes. i'm giving everyone involved with the show the benefit of the doubt because THEY FUCKING DESERVE IT.

this 20 questions format is irritating, and there is no spoiler alert, and this writer has some things that aren't correct (which is fine - it just means he's not over-interpreting or dissecting it as much as we have seem to gotten to at this point), but he does bring up a good point saying after walt paid the money to get saul's number he has "about a buck o five"... after skyler gave dead ted the money, and after he gave the bribe money, how much does he still have? enough for his stable vision of taking care of his family after he is gone? did that idea die when heisenberg became a badass, or when walt completely lost off of his morals and poisoned a fuckin' kid? or does he need to start cooking again? or can he not stop? i think next season will be JUST FINE. hopefully.

too bad he wasn't wearing his heisenberg getup! that would have made things too easy though.... cartel is gone, gus is gone, blue meth is (most likely gone), yet the elderly witness describes heisenberg there on the scene, during the same time what hank suspected was the meth lab was blown up?  hah!

watched the finale again.... a few things i picked up that didn't quite register the first time:

-after knowing the theory people here had was right about poison that i did not agree with before i saw it, walt's reaction to the guys who take jesse in for questioning seems very jumpy, like he reacted without thinking first. for those of us who didn't believe walt did it, this could probably be explained as he was jumpy because he was holding a bomb - and maybe that is right - who knows.

-the old lady in the next room over saw walt and said hi multiple times. old people are often discredited, but if she tells anyone that she saw a bald man with a red beard, glasses and a band-aid on his face that is some pretty good evidence, even if she is discredited at first for potentially being senile/having alzheimers or any other illnesses that come with old age... i think i didn't notice this because actual explosion was so well done and suspensful that it wiped it from my brain that i had previously seen the lady innocently saying hello to him

-why the shot from inside the parking garage of walt and jesse's meeting at the end?

i wasn't saying that the doctor in mexico was going to go after them - i was using his statement as to why taking care of gus was main priority, and raising the question of how many people was gus 'doing favors' for and which one of them may be affected enough to try to take their own revenge. or how many people there were like gale who gus more or less mentored? gus was a well respected and likeable cold blooded killer. he always handled everything in a very professional manner. you don't think people close to him are going to seek revenge?

okay what i just said above was somewhat brought up on this last page that i didn't get to yet, but you guys are thinking of higher ups... they of course may be pissed that they have lost someone running their shit, but the ones below him i feel like would be just as bad of a threat. they kind of have to bring mike back, right? he could fucking kill both of them in ten seconds.... so maybe it would be best to keep him out of the picture for at least half or even three quarters of the final season?

I disagree with everyone who was saying this would have made a great series finale.  The series isn't about Jesse and Walt's relationship with Gus.  Gus didn't even come into the picture until the second season.  As other people are mentioning, there are still a number of plot lines that still can come to head. Mainly, as mentioned, Walt vs. Hank/DEA and the Walt & Jesse's twisted relationship.

agreed. people who have defaulted to 'they have no reason to cook anymore, it should have ended' are not thinking of the possibilities this could go in. they DON'T have a reason to cook, so will they? most likely not. if it's anything like the writers said about this year - the didn't even know where it was going until it was time to sit and write it out together.

and why has no one mentioned the repercussions of being the guys who took out gustavo? remember in mexico when the hospital worker ignored mike and when he was asked by jesse why he said 'this man pays my son.' gus may be gone - but the number of people who were loyal to him and were under him that will be directly affected by his death aren't. hopefully this will be addressed, though not in a weekly "gotta get away from so and so" thing, but more focused on people like mike i would hope... we'll see!
