Upcoming Shows/Tours/Events / Re: Pere Ubu Coed Jail Tour

According to the venue, I am assuming directly quoted from the bands publicity, it's an hour and a half set.

Loni Anderson's daughter lived in my dorm but I was never lucky enough to spot mommy and her boys-- not even once!

I suppose Jagger and Scorsese didn't have that much input but it sure seemed like a whole lot of cocaine nostalgia...then again, Stephen Merchant's show only lasted one season too...

I think the problem with the show was it promised a rock and roll story but delivered just a typical crappy 70s crime story. A story that has been told many times and much better.

Damn, that is crazy expensive.

From what I have read about True Detective they are being patient and letting dude write the story he wants. I think they blame some of the flaws of the second season on rushing him. Of course it's not real until it's being made, they can cancel it at any time.

Doesn't surprise me at all. I watched the whole show but it wasn't great. Also betting it was an expensive show to make.

Bet that parade is crazy. Love that the city cancelled all court dates for the day so people could go.

Am I doing my math right?  The Warriors lost as many games in the playoffs as they did in the whole regular season?  Went 73-9 in the regular season.  Went 15-9 in playoffs.  Crazy.

Wow, had not even considered that.

Not sure if I can say that was Lebron finally delivering the performance of his career but it was a damned good three game run by him. I give Love a lot of credit for the way he played last night too. The defense he played on Curry in that second to last possession was huge.

The Miracle on Father's day!

Down 3-1 I never thought they had a chance. It was a pretty impressive run by Lebron and Kyrie and I  happy for Cleveland.

Crazy that one of the rarest things in sports is a team coming back from 3-1 down in a series and it happened twice these playoffs.

"Everybody's Happy Nowadays" (for Welbutrin)

I think Harmony in my Head would work there too.

Jack Keth and the Crowmen - Brimful of Hate, probably the angriest Childish record in my book. So happy that it got reissues and I don't have to pay a ton for it.

The Weirdos - Ranting in a Rubber Room, just got this from Slovenly as a freebie when I bought the Coneheads LP. Pretty much a perfect double 7" to me. Love the music, love that to avoid a lawsuit they called the band Grand Mal on the labels and that it says in huge type it plays at 33 even though it actually plays at 45. Great stuff.

Coneheads- LP 1, seems like the third printing of this has finally brought it into a price range and availability I can work with. Glad to get it, really really glad that it lives up to all the hype. Great record.

Martin is still plotting the show as far as I know. So these guys aren't taking liberties, they're just following the notes GRRM gave them for where the story goes.

Well so much for my theory. Then perhaps he is just tired of thinking up new names.

I do think the two "rebirths" were a little lame. Betting it was the change from a guy writing a seemingly endless series of books to tv people who want stars and drama.

Preacher is doing nothing for me.

Been avoiding this until I can binge watch the whole season. Good or bad I will watch the whole thing. Might as well knock it out in a day or two rather than a bunch of Sunday's.

Started season 2 of Bloodline last night. I have to say I was a little nervous about how they could keep the story goon but they have done a great job thus far.

Hey fellas, I hear Curb Your Enthusiasm is coming back for another season -

Saw that today, pretty excited and gives me an excuse to watch the series from the beginning again.

Anyone watch any of this seemingly 20 part OJ show ESPN and ABC are doing? Seems interesting but I don't know if I can sit through that many episodes

Obnox - Louder Space LP
Biggest sound of the bunch, though still favoring those 2 Ever/Nevers outta it all.  Would-be/Should-be hits though.  I'm a total idiot for staying in during his mid-week Bay Area shows whenever it was when he came through.  Won't make that mistake again.

He is amazing live and love this album, think Corrupt Free Enterpise is my favorite but have yet to hear an album of his I didn't like. So excited to see him next week.
