Woolf. saw these play last night and they were great, loads of bizarre 1 minute long songs, atonal and real crude but also weirdly catchy. it seems as though they did a record in 2012 then had a hiatus then did another record in 2017, it's a london DIY la vida es un mus band. Anyway they had totally passed me by for whatever reason even though the are local but they are well worth a listen, it def blew the cobwebs out. This is their latest one:

They were supporting a new band/drum machine duo Mentira from Brazil which I think is someone who used to be in rakta.... didn't quite grab me as much.

This is a amazing, the story of Exodus sound system in the 90s... a rave sound system collective set up by the local estate community in deprived, forgotten Luton. pretty DIY inspiring... they set up a community farm, squatted and renovated a mansion for homeless to move into.... of course it didn't end up being all idealistic roses tho.

I really like the record with Holly Golightly "desperate little town", such good songs

Played a song off the new Hank Wood on the radio today....and someone I know told me it sounded like Murder City Devils.  Don't hear that at all, is the comparison some kinda inside joke?!

I was not familiar with murder city devils at all, but I just played their top 3 songs on spotify and it is pretty obvious why people are saying they sound similar, they have that same keyboard sound with loud guitars and similar chord sequences.

Yayy I just found this documentary made of outtakes from 1991 The Year Punk Broke, which was a very important video for me when it came out.... it is pretty much just like having an extra hour of the original documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0W9ZSDq4E0&t=907s

Glad I never spent 100$ on that 2nd eat skull 7" a week after it came out. I love it still tho but not 100$ worth

Different kind of hardcore tho

That sounded really cool. I love elctronic music but don't know shit about a lot of stuff. Got any cool reccs for getting into hardcore/jungle?
imo the best stuff is from 93/94, it is probably worth checking out mixes from that time. this one covers loads of classic tracks as a start https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu5rvhXpIOs

then there is just tons of more obscure stuff. here are a few on the darkcore side, before it got all cheesy and "heavy metal" evil, this stuff is a lot more subtle and sinister:

Peshay - Catch It
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJZO3q69Ssw

Jim Polo - The Night Rider Pt 1
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAY1rphkj9A

The Rude Boy Project- Crimestretch
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=46&v=Uy_FCsTb19w

Primary Source - The Och
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-XNouBQ7kQ

4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse - Drowning In Her
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ln_L6995T4E

these kind of tunes from these era are megabucks now, they've started being reissued to fill the market... it is the new kbd.

oh and this one is more recent but the same kind of thing as that Ricky one, ie mental breakbeats and a disturbing vocal sample https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BxgDnBDuGw

Alot of kult black metal bands are also nazis, I found out recently, to my dismay. Hopefully just internet nazis.

Also I reckon alot of people into kult black metal are hipsters in denial, who probably go nazi to prove they are kult not hipster... im getting off topic tho.
