ha yeah I was vaguely aware that it had been well discovered and well worked over, so no chance of getting originals! I'd never got round to giving it a go though... a good comp is what I want! welll I'l probably just leave it on spotify in the end... but nyway some of those songs have been hitting the spot today

I'm letting youtube take me on a random journey through the music of Pan Ron and Ros Sereysothea, pretty varied kind of beat pop/psych pop from Cambodia... it is mostly really fine and interesting, their voices go great with this kind of music. I only just discovered them today by clicking on the wrong thing in Spotify and accidentally playing a pan ron song, hence me putting youtube on random. Anything easily available reissues of their stuff about on vinyl? there seems to be some Cambodian beat comps from fairly recent anyway, maybe I should seek those out.  love this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fzwDpRqOoo

Ive had loads of good brick weed,no seeds etc,but Im UK and the worst we get is soapbar,very popular in the 90s shitty hash mix,pretty much why I started on "skunk",I always used to be able to buy excellent Afghan/Indian/Moroccan hash until the Essex gangsters took over in the 90s,same with weed up until '05 then a huge soapbar hash drought drove the mongs to smoke weed,then weed doubled in price on the oz,and contaminated weed started to show up.Im all for legalization just on that basis.

yeh i guess this schwag stuff must be different to what I'm talking about.

soapbar seems to have pretty much disappeared and there is a lot of nice hash about.

then there is that shit skunk looking stuff that is sprayed in synthetic legal "canabis type" highs, that is huge in prisons, which makes people go totally nuts. another reason for legalization.

Schwag is really shitty, low grade, low quality weed.  Also known as stress weed, ditch weed etc It's usually all brown and super dry.

What do they call it in the UK

"bush weed". that's what the jamaican guys sell at the end of my street (er it's what they sell to me anyway ha), think it's imported from africa not jamaica tho, full of seeds and sticks. I don't mind it. brick weed is also compressed dry stuff but that is like thai import and can be real nice, no seeds.

it is a somewhat weird lineup, that festival. guess they have a lot of money.

the last few times i saw his monthly dirty water club residency it was depressingly empty and the crowd extremely static, band was still great though.
