There is another Mohr/Rollins fiasco where Jay Mohr starts gushing that the reason he began lifting weights was because of an article Rollins wrote. They then spend the next ten minutes talking about pumping iron, brah.

This was obviously a set up by the gov'ment to try to curtail my gun rights. If you look closely at the 22 year old, she was also one of the "victims" in the Boston bombing. She previously did some T.V. sitcom work and it is a CIA plant. I HATE WHEN OBAMA DOES THIS!

kidding, of course. What a shitty mom.

I am re-reading a book of Anglo Saxon poetry that I had to read in college. I might actually re-read the Canterberry Tales for shits and giggles.

Just finished a great book called "Shiny Objects". This was written by a former marketer explaining how marketers target the masses. Basically creating a fake problem and then coming up with a "solution". The last half of the book is some cognitive-behavioral stuff on how to spend less money.

I didn't realize how insane product placement was until I read this book. Some T.V. shows literally have hundreds of them in one episode.

Black Flag could mean anything at this point. There is an entire coffee table book dedicated to what the logo means to different people (I'm not going to bother to look it up). It could mean you are a really cool parent. It could mean you are the really edgy C.E.O. of a major corporation. It means whatever people who want to seem cool think it means. To me it means living in the middle of nowhere as a teenager and feeling crazy. It's like an ink blot: whatever you think it means, it means.

Started getting into "Broad City" the last couple of days. Got the first two seasons. I hate the idea of single girls in NYC, and I also hate rap. This show has both but I find it funny. Television mostly sucks.

"The two-hour Vinyl opener is said to have cost about $30 million and the first season $100 million."

Soooooooooo punk!

It's funny that none of this ever bled into his art. Like "Thriller" should have sounded like a Ministry or Throbbing Gristle record based on what I am reading here. Dude also had some serious Body Dysmorphia going on with the face, particularly the nose. The nose is basically non-existent towards the time of his demise.

This is hilarious. People are total lemmings. Gene Simmons alludes to this in his new book: He claims that they would have Peter Criss's young female cousins sit in the front row at early Kiss gigs and instruct them to freak out for the band. A and R guys would see this. Gene also claims he bribed one of his female friends to sit on his lap during an early meeting with a record label, to make it look like he was a rock star already.

I remember being promised I could use somebody's stack for a show at a bar once. When I showed up, it turned out to be a 10 watt practice amp. Also, there was no PA. All you could hear was bass, drums and vocals. Pretty horrid. We somehow got through.

Friend of mine hyped the shit out of his band's upcoming show for months. Really pounded the pavement: flyers, personal phone calls. Surprisingly, hundreds of people really did show up. When it got time for them to headline, he walked on stage, looked at the audience in terror, and walked back off stage. The band just sat there and walked off after a few minutes. He later claimed that somebody gave him a "weird pill that made him feel funny". Yeah right.

Non-Music Shit / Re: Singer of Plain Dealers charged

Public Defenders are shit; this is why people hire real lawyers instead. Most public defenders are swamped with cases and could give a shit about your individual predicament. Hopefully this guy can scratch together enough money to get a decent lawyer. This sends a strong message of "We don't know what to do about the drug problem" followed by a secondary message of "You are not responsible for your own bad choices" to me.

ps- The 1984 scenario will be when they start prosecuting sponsors/NA groups. "You didn't do a good enough job with this guy!"

Not a huge fan of drug dealers, but this seems like another way for people to avoid personal responsibility. If you do hard drugs, you run the risk of death. That's on you, not on the guy who sold it to you. I can't sue Walgreen's for selling me Pall Malls when and if I eventually get cancer. We have plenty of drug education in this country; the consumer knows what's up. Also, this stuff went through many hands before this dealer got it, and it makes no economic sense for him to knowingly sell something to a potential repeat client that will kill said client. Point being that even if these guys get some "bad" shit, how are they supposed to know?

Same shit is going on with bars in my state. A bartender can be sued if a client leaves the bar drunk and gets in a car accident. Talk about stupid. So some poor single mom flipping Bud for tips at the local beer shithole gets in trouble because you were stupid enough to drink and drive. Personal responsibility be damned!

I'm thinking about suing Sire/Warner Bros. Those early Dead Boys and Ramones albums turned me into a total fuck up. I could have made a fortune by now if I hadn't strayed from the path. SOMEBODY ELSE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MY MISTAKES, OK?

I love cheesy self help books, and this is one of the better ones I have read in awhile. Step by step instructions on how to get rid of stuff you don't need and lead a more minimalist lifestyle. Book seemed more geared towards working moms, but the advice is applicable to everybody. She also advocates cutting down on social obligations and not spending much money. Pretty decent book if you are into minimalism. Inspired me to get rid of three garbage bags full of old clothes I never wear.
