I've been recording stuff using Audacity but going through my four-track, if that makes any sense.  I don't actually record anything on the four track, but that is what my amp/microphone is plugged into, and the output thingy goes into the USB port/Audacity.  I know jack shit about recording (if that isn't obvious), so I don't even know if I'm losing sound quality due to conversion rate or whatever.  I just know that it's easy and I don't want to pony up the money for a real recording setup at the moment.

There's a venue called The Conservatory that's kinda cool in Oklahoma City, but I don't know of too many other ones.  Some of the more punk/weird stuff-oriented clubs have closed down in recent years.

I agree that Alice in Chains are one of the worst bands of all time.  Even in my early-teen Nirvana/grunge phase I hated them intensely.
