Sweet Jesus.  That sent me down quite the wormhole.  Crazy that chid porn was legal in Japan in '84.  Never really thought that it was legal anywhere ever.
yeah that guy is fucked up, i was trying to find a doc about him on the internets but to no avail.

I didn't even know about the halal thing.

"hyperbole meant to offend" is possibly the lamest excuse I've heard someone give to defend blatant racism, like it's okay to say shit that extremely racist as long as its "meant to offend?"  He claims to care about human lives so he can on the other hand dismiss or insult entire races of humans?  He doesn't hate race X or Y, he just says horrible things about them?  I think what we are learning here is you have a high tolerance for bigotry.  The funniest part is your "racial superiority" bit which seems to play directly into the part where morrissey literally uses the word "inferior" to describe a race.  Maybe I would think he is an idiot that just says racist shit but isn't a racist if he wasn't completely unapologetic about or acknowledged the stupid racist shit he says.

please read my signature below if this post makes you upset
have you ever considered shutting the fuck up? you are the whiniest cunt.
"Thousands of white men standing in a park,
Objecting to racism's like a candle in the dark.
Black man's got his problems and his way to deal with it,
So don't fool yourself you're helping with your white liberal shit.
If you care to take a closer look at the way things really stand,
You'd see we're all just nigggggggers to the rulers of this land."

here is my two bits. I've listened to most of their discograpy and like maybe about 30% of it. Dude is obviously a great songwriter, and the music is danceable like post punk. The only thing I do not like about them and the thing that kinda kills it for me is how soft they play, like there is zero loudness factor going on and little to no distortion, the production is very clean. to me post-punk should be a bit more jagged or not so immediately catching, but still maybe not my cup of tea but pretty good, though overrated. Morrissey just kinda seems like an ego-maniac and his singing grates on me sometimes, but good lyrics.

The worst Smiths album is better than anything that's come out this year
That is some old bald dude talk. Now is always better than then.
I do not really like the smiths, but I agree with grievous-angel.

Non-Music Shit / Best Pawn Shop Gear Finds.
« on: July 22, 2017, 04:48:23 PM »
Was going shopping for an amp with my friend yesterday and found a bunch of cool stuff for cheap at various pawn shops around town the "pawn shop guitar" cliche is so true. What's the best thing you've found in a pawn shop/good stories of getting things out of the pawn shop.

I'm talking about 90's girl rock shit like Sleeter-Kinney, L7, PJ Harvey. Maybe this is more of a Satanisrealagain again phenom. What happened to him? Kicked for the N-word?
still here, just been working a lot. I don't really know why I like all those bands so much, just stuff I got into when I was younger and they stuck. riot grrl 4-ever.

You're not alone. I know a lot of people your age who are into this stuff. I was just curious about how these trends re-emerge. Seems to head in the direction of L7/"Pretty On the Inside", ie huge chunky guitar sound. I never hear people talk about shit like Liz Phair or Julianna Hatfield when they reference 90's alt rock. It always trends toward the big guitar shit.

I think the fact that feminism is very trendy right now, mixed with like the whole internet thing of worshiping 90's girl stuff. Have definitely seen a spike in bikini kill t shirts at shows in the past year, which is not a bad thing in any way. I guess another factor in me liking so much girl stuff was that when I was younger the DIY scene in my city was very, very macho. lots of straight edge breakdown-core guysand the like, it was lame going to shows and having to be in that atmosphere, so I think I ended up gravitating more towards the riot grrl stuff. I will say one thing though, I think that stuff like Aimee Man,, Pj, Bjork, Tori Amos etc is way better, like a thousand times better song writing wise than any chunky riff type stuff such as l7.

most people I know my age that are into 90s stuff treat it the same way they do 80s stuff, like guys really into flipper also really like the cows and whatever, and indie rock power pop people like your sleater kinney and all that.  it's just rock history.
this is also one of the dumber things I've read on this board. That sort of thing is what is wrong with young people, they carve these little niches like "i'm into power electronics" or "i'm into soundcloud rap" or whatever the fuck people from my generation are into, but they fail to grasp THE UNDERGROUND as a whole, ya gotta take it all in, even the crust punk, even the fucking emo revival and then once you've done that, you pick from the wreckage of your music tastes and find the crem de le crem. That is how you have good tastes.

i think he's in the dunce corner.  never thought of those bands as "girl rock" but whatever.  i like riot grrrl thats all i know.  pj harvey is shit for vegans, l7 is good
I do not know how you can listen to her records especially the first four and not see her artistry or the fact that she obviously puts a lot of thought into her lyrics. But you've shown yourself to have shit for brains so.
