I have to be in a certain mood for Conan. All their stuff kinda sounds the same. Cathedral is good, definitely a doom classic.

Crypt Sermon is my favorite new doom band, still hoping for a new album by the end of 2018.

Been bandcamp diving listening to some new house music. DJ Seinfeld, DJ Swagger, Ross from Friends. I'm not really well versed in electronic music, new or old, but I like what I'm hearing.

Saw Judy and the Jerks this last Saturday, listening to all their stuff over again. They have a new tape that they were selling.

Listened to this Bodybags demo a few times yesterday. Kinda trippy, reminds me a bit of that band Lemonade from Minneapolis.

Surprised so much discussion launched off of what I said about the(e) Oh Sees. Guess I read that one wrong. Anyone who lost interest after Floating Coffin should definitely go give Orc or Mutilator a listen. Those are the best albums they've done since that Brigid lady stopped touring with them.

Man it felt weird when I saw King Gizz. Got there early to be in the front and I was surrounded by teenagers. There was an 11 year old there with his parents. Was a great show though. They're probably a better poster child for "quantity of quality" due to the 5 records in 2017 alone. Most of them were enjoyable too.

Help, Carrion Crawler, Floating Coffin, a Weird Exits are all great. I like the new, heavier stuff the best. Orc from last year was their best album in a while.

Coachwhips rule too. I wasn't really around then but the fact they came up the same time super bland "garage rock" like the Strokes definitely says something.

I remember searching "Thee Oh Sees" and "John Dwyer" on here and reading people's posts trashing in the band. That's cool you got to meet him, that dude's record collection probably crosses dimensions.

You're right about them being great live. One of the craziest bands I've seen. Definitely gonna catch them again this October.

Went to the All Ager Rager in Portland over the weekend so I'm listening to a lot of the bands I saw there. Ghoul, Skeletal Remains, Petrification. Was a good fucking show.

New Oh Sees leaked. I doubt John Dwyer is cool to the record collecting elite here but they've been one of my favorite bands for years. New album is heavy and hazy.

Other new albums I've been jamming are Tozcos, Beta Boys, Bone Sickness, etc.

I was silly enough to buy an OG pressing of Mayhem's The Dawn Of The Black Hearts for more money than I have ever spent on a record. So listened to that several times this weekend...
