Anyone got thoughts on the new Sleep album? I was pretty pleased with it. For such a long buildup the dudes really delivered a solid album. Definitely not anywhere near Holy Mountain or Dopesmoker but still a really good record.

The worst part about that whole deal is that a lot of these nazi fanatic bands actually sound really good. At least in punk most RAC/racist stuff sounds like shit. Satanic Warmaster was the first black metal band I liked besides Darkthrone. Goatmoon, Absurd, White Death, all those other ones actually make good music, but the sheer amount of racist bullshit that tends to bleed into the music makes it really hard to enjoy any of it. Bands like D666 or Waitain don't really strike me as actually racist, maybe right wing and obnoxious, but no where near the levels of guys hanging swastikas at their shows or posing in SS uniforms. I just assume people consider Burzum a mulligan because the lyrics are about DnD shit and misanthropy even though Varg is a total scumbag (good meme source tho). I guess it just always comes down to how much you wanna "separate art from the artist", or something.

Pretty good demo of black/thrash from NJ. Track three is especially killer.
