Non-Music Shit / Re: Movies I've been watching

I put on Terrifier on at work tonight. That was kind of a mistake. Pretty brutal stuff, but the guy playing the killer was so good at being a psychotic mime. Probably gonna make a friend watch it with me to see if he can hack it.

Fucked Up is pretty much just shoegaze with a guy yelling over it now. Its enjoyable to me but a lot of punk trappings are gone. The fact they did a song with the Vampire Weekend guy is pretty awful though.

New BB and the Blips album is for REAL ROCKAS ONLY

Anthem is definitely the most "mature" SW album, seconded by Emo. My Brain Hurts is still the all time best high school album to me, those lyrics were bouncing around my head all 4 years. Riverdales were cool too, especially Dan Vapid's songs

Dig this a lot, way different than the EPs.

Orb-The Space Between

More new frequencies from down under. Deep grooves and Sabbath worship in 2018. Pretty good.

newest Black Panties single

This hurts my ears, but in a good way.

Sick Thoughts is great, but when are we getting more of this righteous reaping?

Super stoked for that new Sick Thoughts album. Someone really needs to make a compilation album of all those EPs and tapes

Doldrey EP (Singapore)

someone locally was trying to explain to me the other week about a current fad in HC of taking a "mid paced" death metal influence (he particularly singled out the first Obituary as a benchmark for these types of bands). I guess I don't pay enough attention to hardcore to really know what he was talking about but maybe this fits the bill? Anyone else know of bands that do this sorta style?

Check out the Tyrants of Hell tape on that same label. Similar style of super simple death metal/hardcore hybrid. Devil Master is probably the most popular band that fits that style, if you haven't already definitely listen to their 2 tapes.

Here is another example

Anyone who likes that split tape can probably still snag a copy from Quality Control.

I thought you were the lead guy from Tarantula

I advise everyone in this thread to stop arguing about 40 year old bands and listen to speed metal

Remember that band Milk we were all scrambling to hear? They did a tour tape with another band from Australia. I handed it off to a channel for uploading. Check it out.

Guess I'm just a young gun compared to all you guys. Bands like NOFX, Anti-Flag, Teenage Bottlerocket, etc.. I idolized Fat Mike when I was 15, now about eight years later and I can't stand him or most of the bands on his shitty label. I got really into ICP for a while back then too, but that was also when I was in chemo and frequently getting OxyContin and Ativan sooooo

I'm surprised by a lot of bands I still enjoy. Cloud Nothings was like the best thing ever when I was 17, listening to them now I still really enjoy their records. Can still get down to Bad Religion, Screeching Weasel, the Queers, once in a while. 5 years isn't so long, maybe I'll feel differently when I'm old like the rest of you.

I just hope I never outgrow metal. I wanna be buried in my denim vest.
