In Ontario the best FM classic rock-format station is a hundred miles north of Toronto, 'The Moose FM' which has less ads and plays much better rock than the crummy stations downtown....

On the other hand there's always sweet and moldy AM oldies if you want Roy Orbison and Chuck Berry mixed in with Trooper and Lighthouse.
...Plus Wolfman Jack on Saturdays!

Kevin, re your first point, arguably maybe music is sublime and therefore entirely beyond money? ie it's SO valuable, it's outside the scope of monetary reward or support. But i guess pending The Revolution,  if no one supports it, it doesn't get too far.

'Another time' is hardly what it's cracked up to be - they killed Socrates for his gambling, fighting and shooting his mouth off, drunk down at the Legion. Philosophers get less support than artists, and can only exist in academia anyway. And 'support' five hundred years ago meant painting what you were told to paint. I think being an artist has always sucked.

I threw everything i have in my pc under 'B' into winamp and somewhere among Big Star's 'You Get What You Deserve', the Boys' 'You Can't Hurt A Memory', and the Boys Next Door's 'Shivers' have made myself very depressed.
