Demo Tape / LET'S PLAY GOD/BEAR PROOF SUIT--split demo

LET'S PLAY GOD/BEAR PROOF SUIT--'WeHo' split demo cdr

LPG is a new band with members of BPS and HOLY SHIT!--5 songs that fuckin smoke, very much in the BPS vein but with less rock weirdness and more of a catchy classic early 80's hc/punk vibe.  BPS is long-dead, these are 5 smokin never-released songs from our final recording session in 2009 plus a 10-song set (uh, also smokin) live on WMSE Milwaukee radio from 2008--these songs are not gonna be online for download so this is it.  Frankly, this shit all kicks total ass and you damn well know it.  Smokin.  And may I add on a personal note that it's a distinct pleasure to return to Termbo for the sole purpose of shilling my sonic attitude problem.

Non-Music Shit / GOLDMINE Record Collecting Survey
« on: December 12, 2009, 10:33:56 AM »
***SEND SURVEY RESPONSES TO MARTINP@INFORAMP.NET***

Hey guys,
Not sure how many of you know this, but I?ve taken over all the Goldmine record price guides.
In the next one, the huge 1400 page Standard Catalogue, I have to write a piece on record collecting habits. Please answer only if you have a fair bit of any of these three things: VINYL, ROCK MEMORABILIA or loads of stuff from A SPECIFIC BAND (OR MANY).
So? I wanted to see if some of you might venture some answers to these 11 questions? A) the more detail the better and B) the more of them you can answer the better!
Put as much work into it as you want without getting ticked off at me! If that?s ?none? that?s fine too.
Looking forward to some cool collecting stories and philosophical thoughts. : )

Thanks! Martin

PS - Oh yeah, and if you have a buddy who has a killer collection and cool stories behind it, please pass on this email. Direct all responses to martinp@inforamp.net

1 ? Describe your collection, the nature of it, quantity etc. What do you collect and why? that?

2 - Tell me a cool story of a great deal you got, or a major purchase, or just a crazy, awesome shopping trip or purchase?

3 ? Tell me a cool story about obtaining autographs?

4 - How and where to you shelve or store your collection? Any interesting ways you have things displayed?

5 ? One day you will stare death in the face? How ? and when - do you plan to dispose of your collection? Where is it going to ?go? and why?

6 ? What are a few of the very coolest things you have? Perhaps tell me how you obtained them?

7 ? What do you think your collection is worth, and how did you arrive at that number? (optional).

7 ? What was the first record you ever bought and what is the story behind obtaining it?

8 ? Can you tell me a story about one or two of your favorite (or weirdest) stores to shop in, past or present, and your emotions upon opening your wallet in that place?

9 ? What is your very fondest memory of wanting something so bad, and then finding it, buying it, getting it as a present etc.?

10 ? And finally, and I?m really not sure what I?m getting at here?do you ever get bored of it, grow out of collecting, reflect on mortality or the concept of ?ownership? being only temporary? I guess also, did you ever do all this and then get rid of your collection for that reason or any other? Explain!

11 ? Wait, really finally, let me know if you would RATHER have your responses anonymous, or you don?t mind, or actually prefer, to have your name used.

Thazzit!

Martin

'Past Tension', 'We Won't Repent', People Die Everyday', 'Apothecary'--same recording session as our Science Is Dead 7" on Criminal IQ.  Melt down your complete Poison Idea and Butthole Surfers discographies together in a big chili pot and season liberally with Wisconsin weirdness--pour into record plater, press and let cool on cookie sheet.  Limited to 300 copies.  Some will eventually get into a couple distros but your best bet is ordering direct from The Man:

For all interested parties who've never witnessed the BPS assault or have gotten a dose and want a bit more, we're playing a live set at 8pm Central on WMSE (WMSE.ORG to stream and listen) with an interview that will no doubt provide hours of family entertainment even though it'll probably only be about five minutes long after they beep out the swearing.  We're also appearing in MKE Magazine this week with an interview by some chick who knows nothing about punk rock or us and I feel that went exceedingly well, I just don't know what it's gonna look like after the editor hacks it up and defaces my lovingly-crafted responses to her inane queries.  Check out MKEmagazine.com (I THINK that's their website) on Wednesday and look up the entertainment blog because I sent HER a list of questions I wanted answered and she assured me that those responses will be listed on the blog.  Also, new 7" out in September.  Thanks.
