Our kind are not understood round these parts, Tony.  And if you're offering me Styx I'll take Styx because they've got a much stronger overall catalog than Journey and 'Blue Collar Man' is as exultantly rockin as 'Separate Ways' so the highest highs even out.

Music Shit / Re: the greatest sst release is...???

I probably would've had a half dozen different answers to this question over the last 20 years but today it's gotta be Zen Arcade.  I'd say the Stains are only worth mentioning because that record sounds like they walked into Spot's studio and got to record on Black Flag's equipment--total 3rd string hc songwriting.  Nice to see Divine Horsemen got a mention, I ended up picking up every one of their records over the years somehow.  Leaving Trains 'The Lump In My Forehead' would be a major underrated gem from SST and I'd have to say the band with the overall best front-to-back SST showing is definitely Descendents.

Bigger: http://www.CollectorScum.com/misc/waxi/20090321storestock.jpg

Before anyone asks, the Gov't Issue and Minor Threat are ps only, and the rec in the bottom left corner is Teen Idles missing ps.

BLACK AXE!  No ps but still a major NWOBHM fave!

They coulda ended after the Stooges cover but beer was still flowing and people were still rockin and THEY DROVE NINE HOURS JUST TO PLAY THAT SHOW THEN GO HOME.  I'm sure they had good reason to milk it for all it was worth.

Yeah, the Saturday show was a one-day tour to Milwaukee and back--they drove overnight Friday night 9 hours, hung out Saturday afternoon, rocked like madmen then left at 11pm and drove 9 hours back home.  WHY?  Cuz they hadn't been to MKE in a while and wanted to rock--THAT is what total dudes do.  We ALMOST had them convinced to move here a couple years ago but it didn't quite happen.  WE MARCH/BEAR PROOF SUIT split lp was officially put in motion Saturday night, too--I think each band is gonna have 4 originals and two covers--WM is doing 'Yummy Yummy Yummy' and 'Search And Destroy' and BPS is doing 'Goofy's Concern' and 'Prowler'.  I feel good.

What needs to happen in areas like that is to take away all the guns from all the hicks and give them to the black people there so they can rise up and murder all the dumb ass bible-thumping rednecks.

I live in midwest america and the blacks already have all the guns only they just use them to rob people who try walking home at night and they are far too stupid to 'rise up' but not to murder so shut the fuck up.

Capt 9s is probably my fave Ripoff release because they weren't a 'Ripoff band', just a group of small town weirdos rockin out and long before Ripoff existed at that.  Probably one of the best punk albums of the 90's now that I think about it.  Now all the small town weirdos just wanna be big city art fags like everyone else and it saddens me greatly.  Hey!  Weirdos!  DON'T FORGET TO ROCK!
