Idiot Strings haven't lost any cred at all--you're simply the Al Gore of Wisconsin punk rock for 2006 after the recount.  Grow some beards and hit the lecture circuit.

Funny, before I clicked on the thread the first song that came to mind is "Mind Playing Tricks On Me."  But you could throw the best songs on Public Enemy's "Nation Of Millions" into this discussion--"Bring The Noize", "Don't Believe The Hype", "Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos", "Night Of The Living Baseheads"...also some love for Eric B. and Rakim--"Follow The Leader" is awesome shit.

The intro part to "Hawkwind" is one of the greatest pieces of music ever written.

Man, they fuckin got Stonehenge--that means Halloween all year round.  And instead of Independence Day (from who?  The Romans?  The Normans?  The Viking Hordes?) they got the Queen's Birthday.  Guh.

Tankard-Thrash 'Till Death

Mord, me and some Metal Brothers of mine were sitting around listening to Tankard a while back and I brought up the following question: "Thrash Til Death?  What the fuck else would you thrash til?"  Any thoughts on this?

Made this tape for this goth chick around '99 (American Steel and Silent Majority were current albums I was listening to at the time) who wanted to hear some classic punk (as defined by me, obviously).  I made her a copy and then dubbed one for myself since this 90 minutes is mostly a bunch of my favorite songs by my favorite bands ever.  The only stuff she really liked were the No Comment tracks which completely blew my mind in a postive and negative way simultaneously.  She's married now but I still play the shit out of this tape several times a year.  I win.

I was trying to explain pre-90s 'industrial' to someone with who had no points of reference and all I could think of was the back cover of 'Kollaps' with all EN's equipment laid out on the ground--it's the actual sound of industry!

There's a little garage scene in Hartford right now and by that I mean some kid does shows in his parents' garage.  We're playing there in July on Hanson's b-day and I told the kid to have the grill going when we get there cuz we're bringing brats and beer before we rock.  If those cousins are out of jail they get in free.

The first pressing of the BPS 7" is soldout but I've got a few on rare black vinyl that I'll let go to the highest bidders just as soon as it's actually pressed and released in a couple months.  Anybody who wanted one should have ordered it before they knew it existed.

you "have" to pay $50+ in order to own Plastica or AF s/t LP (unless you hit an auction on a low).

Fifty bucks??  Looks like it's time to sell that lp!  Or I'll trade it for a copy of C.O.C.--Deliverance AND Soundgarden--Badmotorfinger AND The Accused--Martha Splatterheads Maddest Stories.
